Looks like a powerful calf.  He should be fun to follow along.  It looks like you have the proof of crimson tide being a good cross on shorties just running around in your pasture.

What type of birthweight did you have with that cross?

He weighed 72 pounds out of a first calf heifer. We are definitely using Crimson Tide again this year on a couple shorthorns.  He will really stouten them up!

bump. This calf is for sale. He is not a tire kicker. He will be beyond 5k just so you all know, whom might be interested. Will wean in October. He is extremely sound, lots of muscle, and hair out the wazoo.Even on the wash rack,he looks kool. He will be tested by weaning time. His Momma is "clean" and his "Daddy" is a Pha carrier..Thanks...

We start them young...that is easier on the girls breaking them, especially for the state shows for pairs

Gotta agree with the washing thing.  If i have a cow at my place, my five year old daughter is the first one to get a halter on a new calf and wash it.  That's why I like keeping a couple around home so she can play with them.  She is realy good at getting them broke. She has been doing it since she could walk.  Nothing seems to get one beoke like a dtermined little girl.  The calf looks cool.  Is he gunna be sounds down the road?  Just don't like the looks of that one photo, maybe cause he is just that powerfull thru his hip and down into that big leg.
