11X, he is a late January Ali X All About You/Limousin steer.  The big butt behind him is our herd sire, KJDF Tombstone 77T, he is a TC Grid Topper 355 son.

You can check out our blog or become our friend on facebook.com to see more pictures.

Thanks for the interest.  The 81 heifer calf is an early January calf.  We will sell all of our calves during our silent auction on October 2nd.  We are looking at the possibility of having our sale online with steerplanet as well.

We will continue to post pictures and hopefully some videos leading up to our sale.  Keep following steerplanet, www.duncanlivestock.blogspot.com, and our facebook page for updates.

Regarding a price, we will likely have starting prices of $800-$1000 on each calf, but it will depend on quality and market conditions at the time.  Our selling prices ranged from $800-$1200 at our first sale last year.

Here is some further info on the other calves in the posts above.  The Ali steer is a late January calf and the Who Made Who steer is a February calf.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to let us know.

Do you think the 81 heifer will be a competitve show ring heifer, and then go on to make an outstanding cow this is just what we like in our cattle business. Could she be shown as a Maine Anjou or maintainer. Would she be a good heifer for a young showman? What is her mom like?

I think she'll make it in the show ring as a breeding heifer.  Her mother is a P cow so that makes her 6 this year, here is her pedigree, http://abri.une.edu.au/online/cgi-bin/i4.dll?1=20213329&2=2420&3=56&5=2B3C2B3C3A&6=5A5D5C22212626232E&9=5B5159

She showed as a calf and yearling.  We sold her first calf as a breeding heifer, which was purebred angus.  Since then she had a real nice Doctor Who steer one year and the rest of the time she has been bred pure.  Momma is an easy fleshing female.  She is bred back to Eye Candy for 2011.

Whether or not she can be shown as Maintainer, I am not sure, I am not familiar with the rules of the Maine Anjou association.  The calf's pedigree is Who Made Who X purebred angus.  We have 4 Who Made Who heifers as well as a Manchild and an Ali heifer that are similar.  I'll try to get some more picks up of them.

Regarding being quiet enough for a young showman, I think she has the potential to be quiet when we get to working on our calves this summer.  Right now she is not the quietest of our heifers, but her mother was easy to break and show and in general we find the WMWs very quiet.

Here is 3X which is a Who Made Who X Angus/Limousin (F1) heifer born in early January.
