Still looking for and need suggestions on what some of you might use (or have to sell) that we could put our Paddy Omalley sired heifers (out of Maine/angus cows) on for first breeding.
Also AIing our big cows one time then want to turn out on same bull if we can find one we like.
SUGGESTIONS please . . .  <cowboy>

Sorry about previous post. Having trouble getting through.

Here is a bull my friend raised.  He is out of a daughter of Nix 310 (Bull in Identification Picture) who is an OCC Eureka X Full Sister to OCC Freestyle.  He is sired by an OCC Great Plains bull out of their donor cow.  We have a bull out of their donor cow and OCC Just Right that has sired many replacement females for us and the Champion Light Weight Chi Steer at Houston this year (Ammo Daughter).

Very good genetics for function, power, and moderation.

PM me if you want his contact information.

Why dont you AI your heifers also? if your going through the trouble of AI'ing your cows might as well try the heifers also. For your clean up bull you would be able to find a lot better bull that wasn't calving ease for probally less $$ for your cows, if you just AI'ed your heifers to a calving ease bull.

I totally agree. I replied in your other post and asked why you didn't want to AI the heifers.

Alright, here's my spill on why you should AI the heifers...

1. You can select the best and proven genetics available and get a proven calving ease sire. With a natural sire it could be a gamble.

2. If the heifers are synchronized they will calve close together and you have a good idea of when to start watching for labor.

3. If all things go well, you could end up with 70% or more bred to that first AI and that gives them more time to get re-bred the following breeding season so there will be less open females.

Ok, I'm done now ;D

When are you planning on AI'ing? If it's in the spring I have a Sept. 08 Simmy out of In Dew Time( Dream on son). His mommy is a Dream On granddaughter.  I will sell pretty cheap. There is nothing wrong with him if we had a bigger place and more than 8 head I would keep him. He is located in Brookshire, TX.

AI those heifers to Total Solution, you will get definite calving ease, without sacrificing the thing you usually get when using calving ease bulls...bone.Some of the best genetics around, with hair, style, and the ability to sire the occasional great steer and some of the best replacements that money can buy.
