Hi all,

We just pictured our heifer we have consigned to the North Star Classic in Valley City, ND.  She is a February 4th heifer out of Jakes Proud Jazz.  The sale is on December 5th.  What are you opinions of the heifer?  Let me know if you have any questions about her or the sale.

Nice hiefer, love the body and mass, little short necked-seems to be a JPJ flaw, we had the same thing.

Thanks for all the comments!  We think she will be a pretty nice show heifer and a very good cow down the road.  If anyone is interested in viewing the heifer before sale please let me know, we would be more than willing to work with you.

She is out of a Double Stuff cow.

rtmcc - Thanks, it was super exciting to do that well at expo.  Especially with a calf we raised.  She should be fun to show in the Bred and Owned division next summer.  I believe you also deserve a congratulations on your families expo...it sounds like you had quite a good run.

Hi from Richville, MN (near Perham and Detroit Lakes if you dont know where it is at.)  I was also at MN Beef Expo and placed in the top six with my Sun Seeker summer yearling.  The judge said at the time I was in the ring that it was the best class he had judged all day at that time.  He said he could have placed any of the top 8 animals on top.  I was pretty happy since my animal had only been weaned two weeks prior to that and I was able to break here to lead two days after weaning.  I was in ring two.  I had a chrome looking heifer if you were able to see it.  We were near the back of the barn.  I am kind of new to showing and have only been showing a couple of years and am learning a lot about grooming and showing.  I actually wish we could get a Kirk Stierwalt Clinic closer to home.  I am also planning on taking my heifer to the North Star Classic in December and my sister who is a year older than me will be showing a Texas Hold Em Prospect Steer.  My little sister who will be six years old on show day will be showing a smaller Angus.  I am a little embarrased because she is not very good but it is out of our own Angus herd, is pretty gentle, and just about the right size for her.  Oh, by the way appears to be a nice heifer (for a shorthorn).  Just kidding just have never been much into the shorthorns but they are sure attractive in the show ring.
