This is a HeatWave out of a WHO xSimi-Angus cow that a friend of mine is trying to sell. He came from Joe Sullivans sale last fall. I thought this calf flat out blew away anything in our area...and one of the better ones I have seen in the state this year.
My friend and Joe both seen the great potential in this calf, my friend took a chance on trying to get him finished and it didn't work out. The calf is blind as a bat, very gentle and easy to work with now. It just took a lot of time and effort to get him to this point now where he will eat and gain at a high rate in order to finish due to him being so scared of everything at first. The only finished type show that my frined could take him to was his county fair. And now he is looking to sell him to someone that realy wants a good one to compete at some of the bigger shows.
This is just a pic. of the calf out in the pen with some help from my friends younger sister, she's on the end of the halter. The calf isn't washed or fluffed up at all. He does have a bunch of good hair if you were to see him in person. This calf is one of the sounder HW's I have seen and darn hairy! He always has that cocky look because he is always looking with his ears and nose. I think a little with a good feed pan and brush will make him a contender at a lot of shows....pm me if interested, not asking much for him.
