Here is an exciting young bull with a very unique pedigree and awesome phenotype.  He is sired by Who Made Who and his dam is a Meyer 734 out of Irish Whiskey's mother.  He was born unassissted out of a first calf heifer with a 76# actual birthweight.  We all know the impact Who Made Who, 734, and Whiskey have had in cowherds accross the country.  Here is a chance to use them all in one shot!!  He is super sound, real deep, nice fornted and awsome haired.  Should be TH and PHA free by pedigree but has not been tested.  (I belive that Whiskey's PHA came from his sire.)  Please call 515.450.0112 with any other questions.  Thanks for looking.

So,

are you selling the bull, or semen, or ???

Looks nice, sounds like a pedigree for heifers...

It doesn't matter where IW's PHAC status came from, this bull needs to be tested if his dam has never been tested clean. Your prospect can still potentially be a PHAC.

Not wanting to start a fight and don't take this the wrong way, but why do people say he should be TH and PHA free by pedigree when there is a known carrier in that pedigree.  Just because the Sire and Dam were free of carrier status does not make the resulting calf free of those defects by default.  As long as there is a carrier in their pedigree they can still be a carrier and if you are in the clubby business you should have every bull and breeding heifer tested.

No, if the dam and sire are clean there is no chance of the calf being a carrier of these defects, but in the case of this bull calf, he cannot be free by pedigree with Irish Whiskey in the dam's pedigree. If the dam has been tested clean the bull is clean, but not by pedigree rather he would be PHAF by test.
