I believe should would be at least 25% Maine Anjou, so yes, she could be registered as a Maine Tainer. Thanks.

Does the dam have papers ? If so what percentage is she ?
He is in the process of getting them all registered. The grand dam is purebred Maine (red) and will be registered 3/4 Shorthorn. The dam sired by ALM Chiller will then be registered as 7/8 Shorthorn. That would make this calf 15/16 Shorthorn and at least 1/4 Maine Anjou if registered.

BCCC, I'm not sure what show you are referring to but I believe that heifers can be registered as Mainetainers as long as they are 1/4 or higher. I don't see anything that says any different as far as the registration papers go. A particular show may require them to be 3/8. If you have any evidence that a 1/4 blood maine heifer can't be registered as a mainetainer could you please let  me know. Thanks.

Yes, she is a purebred. You may not be aware of the allowance of purebred Maine Anjou cows that are red being allowed in the Shorthorn breed registered as 3/4 shorthorn. This is how it is possible to still have 1/4 Maine but also purebred Shorthorn papers.
