I AI'd a show heifer on July 19 but she started developing an udder about two weeks ago. I had the vet out yesterday, vet advised heifer is not pregnant but is producing milk. This was the first time being bred. The vet did a quick ultrasound and wasn't able to find one of the ovaries but did see a fluid filled sack. Vet didn't want to do anything to the sack or mass yet- said it could wait until we try to breed the heifer again. Prior to breeding, this vet checked her out and found no issues prior to breeding. I have a different vet coming Monday for a second opinion. Has anyone else had this issue before? I wonder if she was bred but didn't form a calf and she's about to abort the sack. Thanks in advance for any input.
