I don't even think it's close.  EXT in a heartbeat.  Just wish his calves didn't go through so many fences!

the latter is exactly why i don't think it's a hard choice.  also, how many good sires are EXT descendants?, as opposed to Stockman 365...northern improvement, tc freeddom, etc.

I am willing to bet there are more sires that trace back to EXT than 365.  EXT has always been known for his great females...more so than 365.  With him leeding in registrations for I think it was 4 or 5 years.  You will definitely see more sires with his influence.   People are going back to him now since all of the problems with the defects.  I have seen more EXTs this year than in the recent past.

I think cattle dog has a good point. Really, a bull that can make a good cow is really important. We have some of him and I'm setting aside a couple females for him next summer. I'd rather have a cow that does it herself and blows snot on me when I tag her calf than one that's really gentle and has to be babied. Not saying 365 cows have to be pampered, but EXT does some good things.

muscle, bone, hair, balance and overall appeal go to 365.  Everyone has differnt needs, but for me 365 wins.  I would venture to guess that 365 shows up in more phenotype cattle pedigrees and EXT is in more performance pedigrees.  I can't sell cattle without look, so my vote is for 365

In our herd its opposite... we have more "showy" EXT cows than 365.... Ext has alot of nice daughters. who are his nice sons?...................365 sire of freedom and nother improvment and grandsire of the infamous lutton...... 365 is more the terminal side of the show ring and ext is the momma's those calves come out of....EXT vs 365  & anchor vs NI are probabbly the hardest match ups just so good for diffrent reasons...............................................I chose EXT my father said 365

BTW, Freedom is out of a 365 cow.  Did everyone forget that Ext sired Saugahatchee and that Bando 1961 is out of a direct daughter of EXT?  Ext is also in the pedigree of Limestone darkhorse.  These are three that just happened to come to mind.  I remember when the EXT's first were shown.  They were freaks and won alot.  With his disposition you have to wonder how many good ones weren't able to be shown!
