We have a weather that we showed at a couple jackpot shows and the flys have tore him up he has no wool growing back and it is swelled up and scabbed over. the spot is about the size of my hand right on top of his hip. What can I put on it to grow wool back and take the sweling down? We have a sock on him and have been spraying it with vetrcin.

best is to prevent it from happening, good learning move; hopefully.

it will take months for it to grow wool back, it might grow some dark hair in the mean time, but not white wool.

Sullivan's Fungall seems to be working this year.  Its expensive but I actually caught it on my arm and its nailing it.  On our lambs I use the vetricyn let it dry then fungall it.  Shouldn't take months, wool grows fast once you kill the nasty stuff.  Sounds like your fly bites are really fungus.  some people also hit it with strong iodine or bleach then use bacon grease to help stimulate the wool to grow.  Warning, I tried the bacon grease, it works but my dogs kept licking the lambs and flies are really attracted to it

well if you are referring to the same Fung-all product that I'm thinking of.. Sullivans doesn't make, they just sell it.  It's actually made by a guy in N/ NW MO by the name of Jesse Heimer, who raises crossbred showpigs.  I still have my free sample that was handed out when we visited his place for a judging workout several years ago.  Super nice guy he is.

Just a little 2 cents that you might not have known..

Sorry didn't know, my bottle came from Sullivan's.  Only problem I have with it is, its hard to keep on the animal (and myself lol)  once it dries it falls off.

No harsh words, just a bit of FYI you might not know  (Mainly as I seen you live in about the same area as Heimer), and thought you might know him.
