Weaning goats

What age and how?

We usually wean our show wethers at 8 to 10 weeks.  They are eating good on their own and seem to get heavier at 3 months than keeping them on a full 12 weeks.  We usually just pull the mom's and put the kids together in a pen with a self feeder.  We try to band and vaccinate before weaning to reduce their stress.
