Looks like a good set. Can't wait to see the video on a few of them. Wouild it be safe to say the Timeline calves generally have a little more performance than the Bar Code calves? It appeared that they averaged a little higher WDA and ADG according to the data on the website. As a group, they seem to have as much eye appeal as you'll find in a group that large.
Lonny, you are correct about the performance in the Timeline bulls. They definitely do have the most performance in this set of bulls. Timeline also had good performance when he went through our bull test and he indexed 135 for ADG , or 35% better than the pen average that year. I am weighing the bulls again this afternoon and it will be interesting to see how they have done in the past month. I will also be interested in seeing the ultrasound data which we will post early next week. We will also try to get videos sometime later this week as well and we will post a link on our website as well.
These Timeline bulls have the best dispositions I have ever worked with here, and they definitely have eye appeal. You can pick them out when you walk into the pen. They definitely have uniformity and I am constantly changing my mind as to my favorite bull. I am pretty certain that 2 or 3 of these Timeline sons are the best I have ever raised. Some of my favorites in the heifer pen are also sired by Timeline as well.
I know that having Salute in the pedigree as the grand sire of these bulls is not popular with some, but I felt I had to overlook this and give Timeline a true test and use him on a cross section of genetics in our herd. I would have to say he has passed every test with flying colors.
The Bar Code calves do have pretty decent performance but they are low BW bulls and are all our first calf heifers. Every Bar Code bull was born unassisted and they should be good choices for breeding heifers. We get more people looking for bulls to use on heifers every year so these bulls are definite candidates for that.
