A few more pics. What do you think of these 3 as far as what their future will be like. The smoke i have a hard time finding the point of the shoulder and the black steer i think is one that will have plenty of slope to get him to 1300. The third pic(black heifer) seems like she is going to get straight(am i right on that)

Is there any ways that you guys use to tell if a calf is straight in their shoulder design and in their knee? Looking at 400-600 pound calves sometimes for me can be a little tricky to tell weather or not by 1300 if they will buck over. I have heard that a few things to look for is the neck to come out of the shoulder at a higher point(up headed). A banana shape to the front leg. The last thing i heard is the calfs front hoof shoulder float when it reaches out for its next step. In this case what is the cut off point to where it doesn't reach out far enough that at 1300 it will be to straight. Also is there any trick to finding the point of the shoulder on some calves? For some its very easy to find the point and others(that seem to carry more condition)it can be difficult.
1). is this one straighter made? I have a hard time finding the point of her shoulder 2). this one looks like she is straight. am i right on this one 3). This calf i can find point very easy and i believe this one would get to straight

Im looking for a clubby bull who consistently sires offspring with the soundest back legs(i.e. tracks wide, stands square on hooves and not on the outer edge, flex in hock and set in pastern). What bulls have you used where you have seen a consistent pattern of them siring these characteristics in their offspring. A bull that comes to mind for me is unstoppable but i haven't seen enough of them in large numbers to know for sure.
Thanks in advance Zak

Start by blowing all dust out of legs, rinse legs, brush with rice root brush forward, after hair is almost dry from brushing spray little revive on legs(to much can make hair to oily and weigh it down), then roto brush legs to work in the revive, then blow legs out. Key is to train hair to not lay down on the leg.

Anyone on here have heifers for sale that aren't gonna be in a online sale this fall? Preferably something more maternally bred but I will take a look at everything. I am planning on making a trip middle to late july through all those states listed looking for heifers. Let me know what you have. If you don't want to post on here feel free to email me at zak18@pitt.edu

What's the best method to curing hoof rot. Cow how a crack that goes almost all the way up the hoof. How long does it usually take for hoof to come back together? Does she need to be in a very clean environment? Any advice is appreciated!!
