You aint kidden-where did those carcass epds come from-I look a lot-but down here-The bulls get absolutely no credit for marbling I cant remember a good shorthorn bull that checks all the carcass boxes in the US STUDERS SPECIAL EFFECT HAD  GREAT CARCASS VALUES-Hes from 1994  O0
We like to select for marbling and REA but the above average across the board was a bit of luck. Both his sire and dam are above average in every carcass trait. (His dam is aslo in the top 1% for milk as is her sire!) Of his granparents all their carcass traits are above average except one grandsire on marbling and one grandam on REA. We have been scanning all our yearlings including the heifers the last couple of years. 38H, his dam and sire have all got genomically enhanced EPD's. His actual performance was impressive.
Do you have any indication of tenderness?  In my opinion it is the most important carcass trait.  Nice looking animals.
No indication of tenderness. We do CUP lab back scans on our yearlings and DNA genomics on all our bulls and some females. We also do DNA testing for genetic conditions on our bulls and many of our females. If tenderness ever gets included in any of the bundles then we will include it. That said we do sell a number of animals each year of freezer beef and get great reviews and repeat customers!

Another Rockstar bred heifer. Jungels has the US semen on Royalla Rockstar K274. Diamond Flora 4H is a daughter of Royalla Rockstar K274. Her dam is sired by Saskvalley Alliance 1A. She is bred to Diamond Second Hubback 38H a homozygous polled bull with an exceptional set of EPD's. He is also free of all genetic defects.

Great looking bulls! They are by top current sires but I really like how the top two have JT Titan 3T as a grandsire as he was a tremendous breeding bull.

He is an impressive looking bull  (clapping)

We are really pleased with how the Royalla Rockstar K274 bred heifers are developing. These two heifers will have calves with international pedigrees! They are sired by an Australian bull out of Canadian dams and bred to the Argentine pedigree ARG Hector 1777.

The Big Show / Re: Bowman's Abernethy

I found it interesting when looking at Bowman's Abernethy's pedigree that he had Apsi Lady 2nd as a grandam. She was also in the pedigree of a bull we purchased in 1969, Rothney Charles. He was a good bull for the times but his offspring would not have had the performance of today's Shorthorns. I do not see Bowman's Abernethy on the verified list, how does that list work?

He is even more impressive when viewed on the desktop and larger screen, which does justice to his stoutness.  More bulls with that body type need used in the Shorthorn breed.  He will represent the breed well in Western Canada.

Thanks, I think he will do well in his new herd. It is dry prairie there but he has excellent feet should do well. His sire is a trait leader for BW, CED and $CEZ

good looking bull.

not much difference from a red angus other than probably a little girth and long bones.

is he polled?  Yes he is polled.

ribeye scanned? No he is not rib eye scanned 25 of his sires calves have been scanned. All the yearling bulls in the Best of the West Sale were scanned. All the sale bulls were genomically tested and all had DNA results for TH and mysostatin and most for DS and PHA. He is an excellent footed bull and should do well on the dry prairie where he will be working!

He had JMO the GENUINE SHORTHORN  PERFORMANCE CATTLE-Alot of big time breeders massaged numbers and rode his coattails I didnt see much price support at all re his dispersal when you consider the money they made off his cattle  Overall: Lauers were much better than any of their overpriced hard doing homgonized with Solution etc Cow Killer SH@#%^&*()T We were lucky enough to have two of his cows in the 90s  before the secret got out and they were great animals SIRED by GREENRIDGE BELKER who very few people have any knowledge of  O0
We had A herd bull from Deer Trail, Deer Trail Nitro, his dam was a daughter of Greenridge Belker. KL Belkers Mina. Nitro left us some good cows one of which was the dam of Frimley Rene Dottie 72R an old cow still producing for Justintime! Phot o is of Frimley Rene Dottie 72R
