A couple of our herd bulls this year. The white one is Hatfield Bingo 2F by Diamond Director 7D and out of a Diamond Prohecy 21P cow. The red is Diamond General 40F, a Diamond Belvedere 29B son out of a Glenford Captain 39X daughter. He is seeing limited use before heading to his new home, a 500 head commercial herd in the foothills.
Diamond General 40G had a 4.91 ADG for 100 days, he was the high gaining bull. He also indexed 111 for marbling.

On both CSA and ASA there is a tab that shows any DNA testing that has been done. It is a really good feature for those wanting to avoid a genetic condition. I think more breeders should insist on these tests for potential herd bulls and especially AI sires. In this bull's case he has been tested for everything including the 50K. If more breeders did the testing we would see higher accuracies.
Also thsi bull's dam has some calving ease, she is sired by a Haumont bull and CF Prosperity was not only one of the first Trump bulls used but also probably of the better and most consistent lower birth weight sires from that breeding.

Some of this years calves. First photo is a Royalla Rockstar K274, second is a Northern Legend 3N and some Rockstars after some snowy weather. Third is photo of some calves sleeping after it warmed up a few days ago.

There is a really good selection of bulls. This guy is I think one of the best ever raised here. I don't select on EPD's but they are another tool in the tool box. He has some EPD's in the top 1% of the breed but actual weights and scan data to back them up. He had a heavier birth weight than some like but he was born while we were at the sale last year and up running around when we got home. I personally would question the value of a mature
that couldn't pop a calf his size out but that's a whole long thread....   ;D
He has 50K genomically enhanced EPD's. Free by pedigree of DS,TH, PHA and myostatin variants. He has BW, WW and YW's and a back scan contributing to his outstanding EPD's. Top 1% of the breed for WW, YW, REA and $F, Top 2% $BMI, marbling, ST, top 5% YG, Top 10% TM, CEM, Top 15% CW. Sired by an ET son of The Grove Kookaburra W735 and Diamond Whitney Maid 14W and out of an ET daughter of Crooked Post Grissom 24T and Kenlene Secret Maid 6T(bred by the late Phil Butterfield) 100% both Canadian and American herd books.

Prolly a dozen bulls in this sale that I like better than either of these.  The Red Bulls rear third is oddly disproportionate to the rest of his body.   The lot 4 Red Bull on the other hand is very good.
I think there are a lot of useful bulls, Lot 4 is a pretty neat package.

I do not know that but it cost me $10 a head.  I did wait until he was in the general area.
There are only a couple of CUP lab technicians in our area. At the present we try to submit BW, WW, YW, Scan info, 50K and DNA tests.....I would add tenederness to the mix but it would have to come with our current scans as there really is a limit to the costs incurred to try and verify your product!

Here is the other Hill Haven Fire Storm 28C bull selling in the sale. He is an ET out the Frimley Wedgewood Clare 2W cow.

As far as I know the border is not closed to trucking of products or livestock but things seem to change daily. On a plus side for American buyers our dollar is nose diving, so $1000 Canadian is now about $700 US.

The couple of Firestorms DU has had were easy calving.

How and where do you get a tenderness test?

Here is the link to his EPD's, performance tab has his scan info andhis performance results, he also has a 50K. DNA results on DNA tab.
