Hudson picks em right, knows what's up. Phillips flat knows cattle, awesome cattleman.

Yea, I mean I've always heard " wide in the rear, wide in the front". I know that's not always the case , but probably a good rule of thumb. As far as Fringe goes, I really like some of the calves I've seen by him. I bought a cane of semen this fall to use on some cows this spring.

I won't forget Jim Williams was judging a steer deal for us and ended up using a steer with a bit of front end. While he was talking the class he says "Now you might not like the front end of this calf but you've gotta remember it takes a big engine to pull a big caboose" thought it was pretty funny.

I'll give you a scenario. I have a purebred heifer out of "Bob" and dam is "Sally". "Sally" is out of "Max". If i were to breed my heifer to "Max" would there be any ill effects in the resulting calf?

After seeing Stout at CWA I can say he is a rip. Really stout made and with a big ass and wide enough topped to eat your xmas dinner on. Chunky as hell. Best set of calves in the barn easily, super consistent. What was everyone else's thoughts on the bull? Really liked the hfr calf in the sale...i think a lot of people did, am i wrong? haha. He seemed to get out and stride real nice. One thing which is  typical of 680's is the fact that they can't move at all. I think stout might have fixed that up a bit. What were the thoughts on the stout sale hfr, and calves in general? THe 680 eggs from ONT sold pretty hot too.

Who got their hands on her up in the north?
