Out of all the bulls at Denver, the only one that really struck me hard was Stacked Deck. Could anyone give me some opinions on him that saw him there? Thanks

The Big Show / ghost rider shorthorn bull
« on: March 07, 2016, 07:18:35 PM »
I know people are always asking for pictures of calves out of newer bulls so I though Id post this one. I have followed Ghost Rider from the time he sold in the pasture at Bennetts. I don't own him because I didnt have enough money when he was a baby  :( but we had our first ghost rider calf and thought id share for people interested in him. She was high 60's low 70's at birth. We didnt touch her and she was up and nursing and walking around in about 30 minutes. Shes out of a gutless eye candy cow. first pic is at 24 hrs old and the other is about 2.5 weeks old.

The Big Show / Flushing an Angus cow
« on: January 16, 2016, 12:49:18 PM »
I was talking to my good friend Gargan the other night, and was telling him I was planning on flushing my oldest and favorite cow. Brandi is 14. To me, shes always been out of the box for an angus. Stout like a maine with a big foot and great haired. We've made close to $50,000 on this cow and would've been a pile more if we had sold the maximus heifer, and we have never flushed her once.  Shes an SAF Bullseye (Focus of ER son) x BF Rainman daughter. she came open on us, and I am going to flush her once to try and make some more foundation cows out of her. This past year, she gave us a blaze maximus heifer (PICTURED) that was champion AOB at the WV State Fair as a calf. I told Gargan I had three bulls in mind to do this cow to, pretty sure I know which one, but out of the three I wanted to hear some other peoples opinions on which I should do her to. Three bulls I am considering are 3C Macho, RSVP, and Long Time Coming

The Big Show / Red Angus
« on: January 09, 2016, 01:27:36 PM »
Where would you suggest somebody going to buy one Reg. Red Angus female. A good solid female. A female that can milk and a cow that could possibly be worth flushing to make females to build a foundation. A female if mated right could produce a show heifer. Mainly, Im looking for a few names of reputible breeders who have a sale each year. So far, Ive looked at Soultion Genetics, Weber Land and Cattle, and Chain Ranch.

The Big Show / cattle insurance
« on: December 11, 2015, 10:15:15 AM »
I was wondering if there is an age limit or what all was involved. We have a donor that will be turning 14 this year and I had thought about getting insurance on her. Can I? Will it cover it if the cow if lost to Old Age? Would I have to sell her to a family member without my last name so she could be considered "a newly acquired animal"? Just wondering if anyone has ever tried this..

The Big Show / x ray vision
« on: November 13, 2015, 11:15:51 AM »
I have some X Ray Vision in the tank and was wondering what he worked on. I remember Sullivans Heartbreaker that to this day still remains one of my favorite horns, and I think Chelsea Palmer showed a red and white spotted one years ago that was pretty good, but its been a long time since I have seen one out of him. The reason we're going to use him is to clean up some recips that dont catch (blue roans are worth more than stock yard calves). Just wondering what he used to work on. Thanks

btw I do realize he is double dirty

The Big Show / Calving Ease Simmy
« on: September 12, 2015, 11:06:05 PM »
I'm not usually one to ask what I should breed my cows to because that is a challenge I enjoy each year but this spring I am going to be breeding a heifer that I love. Her mother is a PB Angus that we raised thats a freak for an angus and we bred her to Maximus to make what we got, a blaze face heifer. I order my semen in the fall because whatever I want is usually in stock. I would like to breed her simmy as shes papered 25% simmy. I would also like that chance to keep the blaze. I raise clubbies so thats why I am asking a 2nd opinion. I have always liked Step Up daughters and thats who I was thinking about breeding her too. Will it work like I think? she isnt moderate by any means. she has a lot of grow to her. Other options I have looked at is:
The Outsider
Uno Mas
Optimus Prime
Homeboy ( dont know a whole lot about his calves)
Goal is to make another show heifer that comes small at birth. Other Opinions are welcome, but no new bulls and no Grizzly
