Archived Classifieds / (27) Meyer 734 x Full Flush heifers (bred) for sale
« on: September 22, 2009, 09:06:08 AM »
If you are wanting an excellent set of foundation heifers to start a club calf business then read below.  AI'd to the right bull a person really would have something but I simply don't have the time.

22-24 month old heifers bred to Low Birth Weight Angus bull.  These are an excellent set of heifers.  Their mothers are Full Flush daughters with the bull a Meyer 734 grandson.  All are polled except for about 4 of them.  They have been with a bull since 5/1/09 and that should make them start calving around March 2010.   I have 27 of these beauties.  They are priced to sell at $1,050 each for the entire lot.  If you have any questions please email me @ darrenlstephens@me.com.  I am located in NE Oklahoma 25 minutes SE of Tulsa.

You can view a video of them here:

« on: September 09, 2009, 06:42:18 PM »
Anyone traveling from central Iowa to Oklahoma this week with a trailer that could transport 1 steer to NE Okla?  Not asking for nothing free would contribute to defer trip cost for you if your traveling this way anyway.  PM me.

The Big Show / Bovine "Fart" Tax
« on: April 04, 2009, 06:57:05 PM »
Have you guys heard about the pending legislation on taxing ranchers with 50 or more head in their herd with an annual tax as high as $88 / head?  The EPA has classified cows as factories contributing to the global warming crisis.  I watched a news report on this last evening and it was quite disturbing to me.  This will have a significant impact on ranchers like myself in our annual operations where operating margins are already cut thin from declining beef prices and rising cost.

The Big Show / More Detailed Information on ICE STORM for NE Oklahoma
« on: January 25, 2009, 08:36:11 AM »
For those that live in NE Oklahoma here is link to the National Weather Service in Tulsa.  This site gives a bit more detail than the local news gives.  Also, when an approaching significant weather event approaches they start posting a multi-media weather briefing twice per day.  Looks like parts of NE Oklahoma could get an inch of ice or more with power being out a week or more.

The Big Show / Flank getting higher in our steer
« on: January 11, 2009, 08:15:26 PM »
Need opinions and help please..... ??? ??? ??? ???

When we got our steer he weighed about 1000 lbs and his lines were perfect.  Now he weighs 1320 and his flank is getting higher each day.  He is large framed and footed so he could carry a bit more weight if we had to but I know we'll take a penalty for anything much over 1425.  Has anyone had this happen to them?  It is very frustrating as we went to a show with them over the weekend and really got punished by the judge for the high flank.

Thanks in advance.
