The Big Show / Best Ear Tag Marker?
« on: February 08, 2013, 05:27:08 AM »
We're looking for the best marker pen to use on blank ear tags.  For years we successfully used Allflex's pen on Allflex tags.  Since they went to the interchangeable tip a couple of years ago we have found the pens to be almost unusable.  The felt is extremely hard and doesn't flow ink very well.  When you attempt to press harder the ink will overflow the tip and blotch the tag.  We add birth date and sire to each tag so we aren't looking to switch to pre-printed tags.  Has anyone had good experiences with another brand that will not fade over time?

Thanks!

The Big Show / Best Cow Types for Dream On
« on: May 18, 2012, 07:59:16 PM »
We happened to pick up some Dream On semen that our local rep was looking to move.  For those with experience using him can you share what cow types he works best with and what to avoid?  We're hoping for some moderate framed replacement females out of Maine/Angus based cows.

Thanks!

I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has done business directly with Mark Mueller at Diamond M Cattle (DMCC) in Hiawatha, Kansas.  I'm close to making a purchase with him over the phone and would just like some additional comfort having not met him or seen the cattle first hand.  I would also be interested if you live close to Diamond M and have seen their current bull crop.

Please send any negative feedback directly to me via a Personal Message...I'm not looking to air dirty laundry or start rumors on anyone in the forum.

Thanks!

Looking for a ride for a yearly bull from South Dakota (Aberdeen area) to Northeast Ohio in the next 2-3 weeks.  He can be delivered to a departure point in Eastern South Dakota and picked up in Ohio or potentially Indiana to lessen the burden.

Please PM me if you are able to haul him yourself or know of a reliable source of transportation.

Thanks!

The Big Show / American Simmental Percentage Upgrade Chart
« on: March 27, 2010, 02:14:10 PM »
Can someone provide a link to the upgrade chart for the American Simmental Association (ie. Percent Simmental of Sire x Percent Simmental of Dam = Offspring Breed Registration Eligibility)?

I was able to find this for the Canadian Simmental Association buy not ASA.  If they use the same chart, it appears that nothing under 50% can be registered.  Is this correct?

Thanks!
