Last sunday i took a trip to go see some gelbvieh show cattle that a young woman had well anyway, we were telling stories of our cattle and she told me that one of her dad's cow gave birth to a heifer in March one year and the cow had another calf again in June, i was wondering how in heck this could happen.

I am going to be showing my horse for the VERY first time at a county fair in July i have already started training , and if anyone could give me some info it would be greatly appreciated, also can you show western in command class? I will be showing western how do i train my horse for tandem bareback, egg race, western pleasure, walk trot thanks for all the info keep it coming! Oh i am an beginner/intermediate rider. As winter is approaching sooner than we know it, what is everyone excited for this winter? I am excited to get some calves on the ground again, expecially since we A.I.'ed some this year instead of breeding them to our herd bulls. Let us know what you are excited for this winter!

The Big Show / I need help on my A.I. homework

This year i would like to breed some cows to a purebred Maine Anjou bull or high percentage Maine Anjou bull. What is a bull that would work for easy calving (heifers)  but still have the show ring look? Also what bulls would work on big framed cows, but still easy birth weights and purebred maine or high percentage maine bull.

Can anyone give me some names to name my show calves, i always put the herd prefix before the actual name though. So if you have any calf names that you have in your herd please let me know, or if you have any ideas. Thanks so much!

I have been doing research for the past few months on what bulls i would like to try for next year. I am looking for bulls that are Prebred Maine Anjou or high percentage Maine Anjou, that will produce great show calves on big framed cows needing more show ring style but still be easy calving bulls. Please help me out if you could thanks so much.

I am looking at a Maine Anjou heifer and was wondering if anyone could tell me some information on him. Any information on the Nobleman bull is good thanks.

I was wondering if anyone was going to the 2010 Select Showcase Simmental Sale on Saturday September 18th, 2010 at 1:00pm. Its at Kirkwood Community College Tripple Beef Center in Ceder Rapids, Iowa. Featuring 60 lots of Registered Simmental& Culb Calf Sale. Cattle will be available for viewing at the sale site on September 17th. There will be opens,breds and steers available.

What's your favorite thing to do at a cattle show or on show day? I'll start taking care of my show calves, after everything is taken care of i like to sit down and have a conversation with friends and family. And of course being and the show ring.

What's your favorite thing to do on your farm or ranch? For me its checking the cattle, riding the horses, four wheeling, driving tractors for my dad.
