If there is any changes to the website that yall feel would make the website for efficient please let me know. Thank you for the opinions and checking out the site and sale. My program is geared toward American and purebred charolais cattle. God bless.

The Big Show / Which bulls on angus cows?
« on: April 22, 2014, 10:11:03 PM »
Hey guys we are starting to breed the angus cows for our spring calvers. We bred alias, two tone, kemo sabe, crowd favorite, and solid gold. The alias worked great on the angus cows however the other bulls didn't quite impress me enough to rebreed that way. The two tone is a tick straight through his knee but if he was sound he would be way good. These are RA Brown bred angus cows. Good growth and they even have some tail head. Sound footed, level hipped, and pretty cows. Lets hear some suggestions. Thanks

The Big Show / New Website!!! Doonancattleco.com
« on: January 22, 2014, 10:10:07 PM »
Hey guys after a few years of wanting to do play with a website a friend and I put this one together over the weekend. Let me know what you like and dislike. The site was made to be very simple and help promote my cattle business. A little background for you: I graduated from high school in 2010 and did not sell any cattle for show while we were showing to avoid getting a reputation for not selling the absolute best that I had to offer. I was very active with my program until 2012, that year I was on the meats judging team at Texas A&M and as you can tell by my success page 2013 was severely effected by that. However, I was named as an All American judger so 2012 was worth it! Take a look and share your thoughts! Our cattle are available on a private treaty basis and I will upload cattle as they are ready to be presented. The heifers are still on the cow and I am not going to upload any steer or bull sale information until I get them halter broke and clipped. There are still plenty of success pictures not uploaded that I am trying to get put together as you can imagine going back 3 years is quite a challenge for some of us! Thank you for the input.

The Big Show / Embryo Success!!!
« on: July 18, 2013, 10:06:04 AM »
Hey guys I just wanted to give a shout out and a  (thumbsup) to chris polzin at Polzin Embryos and also Trent Wilson down here in Normangee, TX (Trent does all my personal flushing and embryo transfers). I bought some Firewater x Wyo Wind 448 embryos from Chris in the spring thaw embryo sale that they had. I would highly recommend dealing with these people!!! Chris gauranteed me 50% on the lot of 4 embryos I purchased which was not needed because last night we ultrasounded and at 65 day pregnancies we had 100% conception with 100% heifer pregnancies!!! Talk about lucky! Also in addition to this trent did some flushing for me personally and we were able to stick 3/4 of my personal embryos which are Pumpjacks(44 son) X John Wayne Brangus cow. So those of you that are concerned with the embryo deal just have good cows and pay attention with a good tech and good embryos there is a lot of success to be had! The charolais embryos were frozen eggs and have a February due date and the American embryos will be here in december with 2 bull pregnancies and a heifer pregnancy.

I would recommend these guys anyday of the week! Have a good day and God Bless!

The Big Show / "The Doctor" Our New Bull
« on: April 24, 2013, 01:56:07 PM »
Hey guys here is a new bull I bought off a guy back in February. I think he might be a pretty good breeding piece and have some valuable females for me along the way. He is a 4 year old Witchdoctor X Leddy Red Angus. Polled, gentle and low birthweight! We just call him the black bull but for the fun of a story I would like to introduce yall to "the doctor" aka Dr. Doonan! Let me know what yall think

Thanks,

Kevin Doonan

The pictures were taken this week after covering 25 cows since February 15.

The Big Show / What to flush her to?
« on: November 27, 2012, 04:50:33 PM »
Hey guys this is a triple bred wyoming wind female that I showed back in 2010. We were the junior division champion at houston and never lost a class with her. She is obviously in her working clothes and we dont feed our cows. I'm thinking about flushing her heatwave or solid gold and then breeding her jimmy the greek or smiling bob. What do yall think?

The Big Show / Monopoly Heifers
« on: September 24, 2012, 03:02:23 PM »
Hey guys I just calved my monopoly heifer and was wondering what I should breed her back to? I suspect she is a carrier. Extremely moderate and super super shaggy I'm talking fort worth type hair in middle of july (she was never shown has always been in the pasture.) She is a monopoly out of Glovers 505 cow. Solid black and polled. I just had a troubadour painted up bull calf out of her friday and I bet the sucker didnt weigh 60 pounds at most.

The Big Show / When to castrate?
« on: June 29, 2012, 04:38:41 PM »

Hey guys didn't really know where to put this but I have some time off this summer mainly the month of may and july but possibly june depending on summer classes. I live in College Station, Tx but can travel. If anyone needs any help let me know shoot me a text or call me 979/820/4388. I have worked for Chambero on here and he told me he would share his experiences with anyone that wants to talk to someone that I have worked for. I enjoy the work and try to be fair on the cost of my work. Either just coming in for clipping or work the entire time at a show with fitting and the works I have done it. Not going to tell you I am the best but I will represent your cattle to the best of my ability which is respectful to say the least. Thank you.

« on: April 24, 2012, 04:24:27 PM »
Hey guys I was wonderin if anyone knew of the impact that a recip has on a calf other than providing nutrients. Such as input to color, bone, and make up such as color markings? Thanks

The Big Show / Thoughts on this ABC steer (Updated Pic)
« on: February 05, 2012, 04:06:02 PM »
Hey guys here is a November Power Plus X John Wayne Brangus cow. This cow was one of my show heifers and was reserve brangus female in houston 2008. He will be for sale probably after san antonio. He was a hairy little booger and couldn't wait any longer to get the hair off! This one is slick polled, solid black, and sound footed. Anyone that knows my dad or I knows we like playing in the Brangus classes at the slick shows but this guy is square hipped, hairy and cool enough to try Fort Worth. Well yall have heard my opinions lets hear yalls.

Here is a pic taken in the pasture 2/16/2012 no blower, no pump, no creep, no fit job or clip job just sheared his head to make sure he was polled. Hes progressing fairly well.
