What color is the straw?  Red or pink would indicate sexed female.
What did it say on the straw?  Everything would have been written on the straw
Are you talking 1/4 straws instead of 1/2 straws?

The "Chute Side" podcasts by Faris Simon are very interesting to listen to and informative.  He has had different topics and persons that he has interviewed.  Love them.

We have tested him lightly.  Have a heifer calf (88 lb.) out of a cow whose cow family typically has larger BW, so I am happy.  The heifer is a standout.  Hoping she will continue to develop into a nice heifer. Also had a bull calf (78 lb.) from a more calving ease cow family.  It seems he follows the cows with my small calf crop.  NICE CALVES!

What Pleasant Grove said.  If calf is backwards and legs are tangled, the calf does not go into the pelvis and the cow does not get pressure which will trigger her to start pushing.
I would definitely get her into a chute to see if the calf is presented correctly.

with semen up to 15K, a bargain.

Actually, they bought one of my straws....and it was more than that <beer>

We have the Lakeside Lights that Sullivan Supply sells.  They are slightly tilted at the 45 degree angle and hit full light right on the calf.  I only used the two top light bars and the butt one at Expo, but the set comes with 6 light bars that attach to steel chutes with magnets or come with velcro straps to easily attach to aluminum chutes.  Love mine.

The Sale was a dispersal in Kansas.  Sounds like there were a lot of positive cattle sold.
Of the people that I talked to that purchased cattle, each person had at least one positive test.
This may cause a test for anaplas before selling cattle out of state at some sales this spring.
