We had the same issues with a couple of ours! The calves had a hard delivery and had some brain damage and no will to survive... What we did was give them a shot of multi min and tube feed them colostrum and milk along with electrolytes! We had to tube feed ours 2-3 times before they would nurse on their own...

Agreed!! I use the green stuff and LOVE it!! Also melatonin helps hair growth... I'm going to start using it!

I tie mine up and scratch them with the show stick for around 5 minutes and it has worked for me  :)

I have fed precon for that reason but didn't see a difference... I am now feeding beet pulp! If you can get a pic of your steer I might be able to tell you what supplements he would need now and in the future...

I have never fed a steer like this and have never heard of it either... I feed mine a feed called long fattener dry and switch them to Purina show chow
3-4 months before final show... I've heard alfalfa can give them the squirts!! Beet pulp is high in fiber which also means a loose stool! I don't know what black lol sunflower seeds does for them other than make them shine  (lol)

My steer pops in his pasterns too..However he was born like that! Neither the parents or any of their other offspring have it  ???
I'm wondering the same thing!!
