Title: "Thoughts on Cattle in a Commercial Setting" by Ralph Larsen
Post by: Heritage Shorthorn on May 02, 2019, 09:05:20 PM
Ralph Larsen, who owns Y Lazy Y Shorthorns, has written an article about the selection of cattle for commercial use.  The article is posted in the Cattle Viewpoints section on the Heritage Shorthorn Society website (www.heritageshorthorn.org (http://www.heritageshorthorn.org)).  Anyone who is raising commercial cattle or selling bulls/heifers to commercial cattlemen should find the article both interesting and practical.

Good article, it transcends breeds.  Don't necessarily agree with all of it, but he makes some very valid arguments about the importance of a good maternal backing; especially for those terminally bred steers and heifers.
