I was just looking at lautner's website and glanced at their high sellers. Does anybody have a pic or anything about the 100k steer sold by Brian Martin? I never heard or saw anything about it and was just curious.

What you have read about is a full brother to the Ft Worth Grand that was bought sight unseen during the Ft Worth show either right before or right after Stock's calf won.  He was bought buy a guy not everbody knows but who has been throwing money at calves for a few years at least.  I don't know if he has been shown yet or not.

If he has been throwing money at calves for a few years, and yet no one knows him, he must not be throwing money at the right calves!

The steer is in Texas but I don't think he will be out of the barn until maybe the Fall Classic.  The gentleman who purchased the steer has a barn full on feed right now and they are all very impressive.  I saw one this weekend he purchased from Brandon Horn that is the best Solid Gold I have seen.  And I've seen some good ones.  His goal is to win a major and he has a great shot at it this year. Good luck

As I've said before, the truly best ones down here aren't changing hands (at least not for the final time) on online auctions.  Those deals are still private treaty for the most part.  Even though a whole lot of money changes hands on those kinds of calves in the end, it takes more than money to get one.

The money doesn't last long if you sell them to somebody that can't make them win.
