To me, this bull gets more interesting everyday. He doesn't have the width, pin to pin, that I'd consider better, but he's filling out so fast I'm not sure where he's going. I was thinking he didn't looked Galloway enough, but maybe those with more experience could help me evaluate him in Galloway terms.

By filling out sp fast, I mean growing and changing. This was him 6 months ago when I got him. Those are not my cows. They are Lowline crosses.

He looks like an entirely different animal (better!)  He looks more "Gallowayish" in the first photo, but almost appears to be a heifer.  He has transformed into a bull that almost looks part Limousin judging by the development of the rear quarter.  Does he still have the Galloway influenced head or has that changed, too.  It is hard to tell with his head down.

To me, he still has a Galloway head. The only picture of his head I have is from April. When I have a camera he ignores me and won't hold his head up or has it aimed at a cow.
Supposedly he is Wild Rice breeding that fell thru the cracks when the herd dispersed. If that is true he is line bred- if not, then I don't know. He's the same shade of red as my dark red Shorthorn cow. His crest is just beginning to develop and he is changing week to week- like Mr. Spock in that movie. And you're exactly right, he was not masculine- except for his big testicles. He hasn't changed in that respect.

Thanks for trying to help me figure him out.

I think he is a good quality bull.  He will not get
much respect or credence on a show cattle site.

I agree that he had a Galloway head, but would expect
a little more hair in the ears.

I think you will make some real good females.

Here is our herd bull to evaluate.

Good luck to you!

Thanks. I like your bull and am more interested in that type. I do have a lurking feeling that this one might make good females, but he's too tall for my current ideas. Here he is with a Galloway X Lowline heifer and the size difference is too much, I think. Heifers of the same breeding did calve to him with no problems. I just wanted a few 3/4 Galloway 1/4 Lowline cows so I hope it works out okay. I'll go back to a shorter Galloway after him.

This is the one I hope to use next year- more what I like, but I was curious about the red one.
