This year's Junior National will be held in Indy July 4-10th. The planning committee is looking for sponsors for the various winners of the show. Please take a look at this attached handout and contact the committee if you would like to support the Hereford youth from across the state.
Thank you for your consideration,
KCK

This group is still looking for a few people to sponsor classes and the likes. Any extra money will be used to make it an even better show.

Love herf Jr. Nationals!!! Its in our state this year too. But WHY DID THEY MAKE IT SO YOU HAVE TO BE THERE ON THE 4TH OF JULY?!  :( We have a family get together with relatives we only see a few times a year and then we gotta skip it this year because of that... :( Wish they could make it so you could come in on the 5th...

All the cattle normally have to be in the barn on Sunday so they can get processed. You should have brought your family to experience the 4th with Hereford breeders. It promises to be a large time! Even if you don't want to bring cattle, did you sign up for showmanship or any contests? The Indiana juniors are active, or at least they were when I was there.

I just hope the weather is nice and cool! With it being my brothers last year, I sure don't want to sweat too much! YA RIGHT!

LOL well I would bring them, but there is about twenty of us that get together and only see each other about three times a year :(. I didnt sign up for the contests, just the shows, steer, B&O and Owned heifer, and Cow-Calf.

Its kinda weird though to have it on a Sunday and the 4th, but I dont know who makes the dates? It'd be nice if you could process on Saturday instead of just tie out on Saturday...

Hey Football, take this from a professional whiner! The best way to fix some of these things is to ask to be on the planning committee so your ideas and thoughts can be expressed before the fact. I have learned to be more proactive than reactive in the few years I have been around and it seems to help. Although I agree with you on Sunday and on the 4th. So much more to do now a day than it was.

LOL I know I should be more positive, but thats like our family day, just thought I'd voice my opinion on it. We'll end up going anyways, its close to home 3hrs and I didnt get to go last year, so I definitely wanna make it this year.

Just gonna put it out there that I only live like an hour and a half from Indy, and if anyone needs any help...I can do anything from scoop poop, comb, wash, lead, blow one out, and I've been known to get wily and clip and glue on a herf or two. I think I'll be there anyhow, but ya'll think on it and if you need an extra hand let me know.

OFS I officially hire you via SteerPlanet to fit Homer the hereford. Yes his name is Homer...

Sounds good to me man. If you guys can get him halfway roughed out like you did this weekend before you show up, I should be able to take care of the rest.

Cool deal!!! He'll be there, plus my heifer and a cow/calf pair. You up for all that? Nice thing is, all of those classes are on different days.

I guess I never noticed it being on a holiday. I love being at a show on holidays, since all I ever did was show. Junior National was our vacation, throw in a few regionals every now and again. Sorry if you can't make it because of that, but there are a ton of cattle coming and it will take a while to process. I didn't realize that until I was 1)on the junior board and 2) helped put it on last summer. Great that the numbers are up, but tough to put all the amazing fun stuff in just a few days. I love this time of year!

I agree with you KCK, the cow shows are kinda our vacations. We dont have time to for vacation during the year, so going to Jr. Nationals is kinda like our getaway. We didnt go last year because of med issues and I didnt get the ok from the docs. But this year we got the go ahead!!! But we are going to go!!!! Since its about 3hrs away we're going to check in and get setup, do chores for the night early, head back home that night and see the family late. Then we'll have an early morning the next day. Or thats the plan anyways.
