We finally got a good pic of our heifer from this summer. She is sired by our walking bull owned with JIT "Star P Matrix 4N". She is out of a Diamond Captain Mark female we have here on lease from Diamond Shorthorns. She has no appendix breeding in her pedigree.
She is bred to our daughters Saskvalley Pioneer son "Me N' My HAwkeye 22W". She has gained many friends since spring at shows from both 4-H members to major breeders from various breeds, and we are very excited about her future.

She looks beautiful in this photo.  I was wondering if you have anymore photos of Me N' My Hawkeye 22W.  I bet that will be a outstanding calf!!!

Jaimie, this is the last pic of Hawkeye we have taken late June after 40 days of breeding. Ol KIt Kat should be in calf to Matrix again so we could probably handle another female like Winegum!

Love the way Winegum just keeps getting better and better. Old Matrix should be proud! And Hawkeye is pretty impressive as well.  How do these two get along in your spare bed room?

Hawkeye may have to come to the bedroom. He is the fussiest (did I spell that right) eater we have ever seen. Worse than a calf.He had a very tough go in August and got quite run down.
If Winegum was in with him she would be a butterball. Some think she has spent her time in a feed tub but she is on a "No gain, keep good hair" program.
JIT your house is a lot bigger than ours so maybe you have a room for him!

I will gladly keep him in a spare bedroom if it means I get to use him a little next spring!

Always a possibility of a trade off, but HE will probably be at his other owners next year! ;)

Don't tell me you have sold a piece of Hawkeye? If so, are there any petting rights left in him?

[/quote]Oops I should read my writing before I post. "He" meant a certain bull of yours not Hawkeye.

It is still morning and my head is still a bit fuzzy. I got what you referred to now. Yes, HE will be at his other owners for awhile, but not all year. And the "other owner" may be living much closer to us next spring. He is considering buying a place near MJ.

I think that she is very very VERY pretty shorthorn.  good luck with the rest of the shows?!

Then Winegum is a lot like her dam, Circle M Candy'e Kit Kat 9K, she's always in great shape!
Here's a picture of the skinny thing!

Excellent heifer. Her papers may not show appendix on them. If you ask JIT about Duke of Dublin he'll tell you better, there are alot of N/A on the pedigree behind him. Even some Lincoln Red in there in the Green Row Peppermint female and Claydene Ever Reddy........
Makes no difference she's an excellent heifer and you should be proud of her.

Did you breed Hawkeye's dam back to Saskvalley Pioneer?

No...... Matrix!
That should work well.
You realize that last nights game does not mean you can drape Roughrider green banners over good cattle at Agribition again! I'm thinking RED will be the color of choice this year.

I think that green is a lot better than red on a roan!! (lol) Sadie is already talking about riding Winegum to tie outs for a victory lap <party>
