The "BIG WEEKEND" is over in Denver at the 2013 NWSS for many of the Display Bulls.  So...I was wondering if we could start up a good, positive, set of comments and opinions on this years display bulls from this past weekend?  Here are a few topics for bulls on display this year...

Your favorite bull(s) on display this year and why?

What breeder had the best "set" of bulls on display?

Best "clubby bull" for steers on displaly?

Best "maternal bull" for replacement females on display?

Best "easy calving bull" or bull for use on heifers, on display?

This is for our enjoyment and education.  Please keep your posts as positive as posible.  :)

Probably the most intelligent wording for a question about Denver bulls in a post I have ever seen on here. Instead of lumping them all together what a novel concept of separating the THC from the THF....ETC. Hopeto hear responses.

FAVORITE BULL/ CLUBBY BULL..."Ready To Rumble" This bull is sired by Unstoppable who was one of my favorite bulls on display in Denver last year.  He has so much depth of body and rib shape and appears to be the type to sire the easy feeding big bodied cattle that are popular today.  He is also big footed and super sound

BEST MATERNAL BULL....."Liquid Courage" This bull couldn't have a better pedigree to be a maternal sire, Irish Whiskey X Dr Who. Couldn't get any better than that and he his big bodied and soft made.

BEST CALVING EASE BULL......."SkyFall"  This bull should work great on first calf heifers.  He was born unassisted to a first calf heifer with a small birth weight and still has that big time look.

Just my thoughts and reasons why I'm thinking that way.  Don't get me wrong, there were other bulls there that will sire a lot of champions in their time and that we will use, but these were my favorites in these 3 catagories.

I like your logic in putting this thread together.  Bulls need to be evaluated for what they are.  Comparing a calving ease bull to a cow killer can be like trying to compare apples and oranges.

I checked out the "Denver 13" thread.  Lots of posts on there about "clubby bulls".  The clubby bull "I Believe" getting most of the attention.

How about some of the other topics

PB Simmental, PB Angus, Simm/Angus, Shorthorn and Shorthorn Plus...

THF or PHAF bulls?

Cattlemen have different tastes and raise different types and breeds of cattle, and most are on display.

Here are some cell phone pics of Sugar Rush from Denver...he was by far the bull with the most performance and power and grow. No he's not perfect but I have yet to ever find a perfect one because they all have a different purpose, type and kind. This bull is a cow changer and for how stout he is he is incredibly soft middled not to mention great haired and big boned. In terms of shear power this is a bull that will bring a lot of change to a cow herd.
