What are PPL's thoughts on the 3 Duff bulls, Standout, Outer Limits, & Bodybuilder? Anyone seen any calves out of them? Trying to decide which one may be the best and differences between their calves, if any. Also thoughts as to if you think that they could be used on 1st calf heifers. Thanks in advance.

From the calves that i have seen the Duff bull that is sireing the best calves is First Look.  I saw him at REI and didnt like him that much, but after seeing several of his calves I wouldn't hesitate to use him. I'm not sure about using him on heifers, I didnt see any of the calves at birth.  Kirk Duff would give you straight answers if you call him.

I would look deeper into the Duff line up. The  full brothers are better choices in my opinion. New Attraction, New Generation, New Edition and New Look.

I like to look at many of those bulls but can't find power that I want with true easy calving.  After years of using Oldhe genetics I found this bull and purchased him as a 6 year old after seeing his daughters and then his mother and full sister.  He is the most unique Angus bull I've ever found.  He is extremely easy calving but his body and muscle combined with his extreme front is what makes him different.  I just sold 100 units to somone who saw him on SP to breed to Irish Whiskey daughters next Spring.

He is out of OCC Eureka (Power) X A full sister to OCC Freestyle (Style and look)

Duff doesn't have one like this.  I've added a picture of a daugther of his out of a Godfather heifer.

Thanks Steer4caddy. I'll keep the 310 bull in mind. We have used the OCC Freestyle bull and like the heifers out of him. I've not had any luck getting anyone from Duff's organization to call me back no matter which Ph # that I use.
Standout,(ABS bull), Bodybuilder, and Outer Limits are full sib flush-mates, but are not sibs to New Look, New Generation, New Edition, & New Attraction. I was looking and wondering if any of you have seen/used the 3 bulls that I mentioned in the original post? http://www.powerpluscattle.com/sires.html, this is the link to Duff's web-site. You can compare pedigrees there. SEK does have a bank of semen on the Bodybuilder bull now. He is $30.00 retail. Thanks, Brent

I had absolutely no problems in getting response from Duff's.
I emailed them and got a reply very quickly and it was very lengthy.
this was last May, so maybe things have changed but I was pleased with the
advice and response that I got.

We had several Outerlimits calves.  Really liked them.  Had one a little wound up on his hind legs but he was out of a Heatwave so I guess that explains that.  They were really nice fronted and stouter than we expected.

Outer Limits is the bull that I like the look of the most, but the other 2 bulls look like they may offer more of what I think that I need. More depth & width of rib. There goes that darn "eye" causing a problems again.
Did anyone use Semex's new Duff bull, New Generator? How about the "new" Duff bull, DCC Eureka, out of OCC Eureka?

I like Basic Instinct. McCune told me they were the best sire group far and away. You won't find anyone nicer or easier to talk to than the Duff's. Just call and ask.

We bred all of our registered angus cows to "OUTER LIMITS" (thumbsup)  to say the least we bred them all the same way this year. we had 3 bull calves and kept everyone of them!
The calves were super deep bodied, though one had a little leather on her front all of the calves had a very extended front end.
The muscle was the most impressive, they probablly have been our thickest set of registered angus calves.

we had no pulls but wouldnt recomend him for heifers weights ranged from 70-95?
