4-H Premium Auction

Was wonderinig if your 4-H/FFA/Fair auctions allow breeding heifers or if it is only market/terminal animals. Ours is currently only allowing market steers or not market heifers but we are trying to get it changed to allow breeding heifers in. In that case, they would only be getting the premium, not selling the animal itself, they take it home and cannot show it again at the fair. Was wondeirng what others do.

Our auction is terminal and only for market animals.

We have a ribbon auction and each kid can sell one ribbon.  It can be market or breeding!!

At our fair every child can enter some sort of animal in the Jr. Auction including cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and rabbits. Either market or breeding. Of course the breeding animals dont bring quite as much, but it still a nice check to still bring home your animal. I once "sold" my bottle calf for $950.
