Should I buy a 7ft or an 8ft chute? How do you truck the 8ft chute when you have a full trailer load? On top of the trailer or strapped to the side, or what?

I think I'd like a 1/2 chute but the old man is worried about heifers that aren't broke yet in them.

I get along just fine with a 7ft alum. and it is easier for me to handle at shows... like an 8ft steel for the barn to break calves to blowers and vaccinate in and such...

I personally like the 8ft. aluminum.  The 7ft. chute works perfect for calves but I have problems with big heifers.  I always fight the back bar when pulling the back legs.  I would love to have a half chute for my real tame ones.

go big or go home go with the 8ft on top of the trailer just make sure it is strapped down tight.

we have a sullivans 8ft. aluminum chute.  it works great we just take our calves pen and make it smaller the we put every thing on top of the chute, then put stuff on the sides. it works good.
