I have a Walks Alone X Maine cow that I am trying to find a bull that will add some frame and make the calves softer made. She is very clean fronted and very correct but will need a bull that will add frame. Any recommendations?

Look more so at the maine bloodlines Paddy O malley, Ali, if she is sound enough The Godfather, then also ammo. Do not look at any monopoly/newer heatwave sons to add frame and I wouldn't breed a walks alone back that direction. yellow jacket will add some size but not much softness.

What about amen or hired man? Looks to me like both could add frame and pass on the soft look they carry

For a wildcard bull that I really like and I know dcc show cattle has seen one out of him in Oklahoma is the bull titanium, he's not little and his calves sure look the part considering how much he gets used

When it comes to adding frame, I think going back to some of the older bulls is best.  Total Play Z56, Full Flush, Dirty Harry, Ali, Who Da Man (if you have $2K to spend on a unit) all add frame and you do not have to give up thickness, plus they make great moms.  Anxious to see if I Da Man will breed similar to his sire too.  Man Up though is adding body, good rib shape and has adequate frame too.  All of the Man Up calves have been really good that I have seen, not clubby freaks though.

If your female has plenty of Middle you would like what Hannibal can do. he is TH F and PHF. The females usually are super stylish and clean made.
Older bull we have used in past Calberta Black Impact. He will add some frame we had luck with hair. Both bulls are reasonable priced.
Sin City puts some frame in them but they can be shallow made. Lots of hair.
I have a friend who has a larger percent Maine herd. His cows are nothing giant, but when he uses Who Made Who they are some of his largest calves. I have used WMW and they are the smallest calves but my herd is mostly shorthorn.
You also may want to evaluate what you want terminal or maternal. Hannibal steers I have seen have tons of style but usually weren't the most massive unless the cow had some body to her.

I did not think of Hannibal or salty dog those are my two choices! Also one and only works best on that kind of cow but your doubling up your heatwave (some people like it some dont thats your choice there)

What does she need in addition to frame?  What breed dominance are you seeking?

DMCC Polaroid 29S, purebred Maine-Anjou will add frame, bone, & overall extension.

Ah, good call. Forgot about him, I tend agree without knowing more about the female. Being recommended on the smaller stouter, market heifer looking females.

Thank you for all the comments and yes she is built more like a market heifer, that she needs to have a softer and deeper sided, and I think I am leading towards breeding her too Salty Dog.
