I thought I read some where on here where it is 12% protein and 4% fat?  Does anyone know the exact protein/fat % when you had the feed made up - hoping someone has it?
I know it is for finishing steers, but if you add extra fat product or even the stablized rice bran, how close does this put you towards the 6% line for fat?  ???  We are trying to stay as close to 5% as possible and just looking fo advice for those who have used this ration.

As alot of people probably are  - Feed costs are factoring in on this ($7.00 corn and showmaster has just gone through the roof cost wise to the point there has to be other options considered)

I used the ration last year for the first time and was very pleased.  I worked with my co-op guy and got the protein to 13%.  For finishing we added extra barley and stab. rice bran.  I am doing the same this year.

We have been feeding AAOK's ration since January and are really happy with the results. Our younger calves we top dress with come calf manna to bring the protein up. It will make them fat if they are towards the end. Our January heifer got fat pods real quick on it! We just cut her back and put in some pulp to give her fill. We also top dress with Sure Champ pellets. We like the way they look so far, and it is cheaper than the show feed the store sells!

I don't know the amounts of everything off the top of my head, but will post tonight once I get home.

Okay, this is the ration I have used the last two years.

      900 # cracked corn
      400 # cotton seed hulls
      300 # rolled barley
      200 # rolled oats
      100 # soybean meal
      100 # molasses
      complete mineral pack

It also includes Alfalfa pellets, but I forgot to look at the amount-- I'm guessing maybe 100lbs.  That is probably where the added protein is coming from as the ration runs right at 13%.  We also feed Vitafirm Sure Champ pellets and then add extra barley and stabilized rice bran the last 60-90 days for finish.    It works for us.
