I am going to use the AAOK ration this year. i have read in the past you can substitute beet pulp pellets for the cottonseed hull. Is it a straight across substitution or do you have to make any adjustment? I know beet pulp is higher in energy and protein than cottonseed hulls. Our local feed mills do even have access to cottonseed hulls, as none is grown locally. There are lots of sugar beets grown locally, so beet pulp is readily available. Any help or suggestions would be great.  Thanks

Please proof read your question and make sure it is clear as to what you are wanting to know. It is somewhat confusing to me, but I think that you are wanting to know if you can exchange beet pulp pellets into AAOK's ration pound for pound for cotton seed hulls. My thoughts are no you can't replace a fluffy CSH with a compacted, compressed beet pulp pellet simply from the standpoint of volume. I don't know if that makes any sense to you. You would be much more likely to replace CSHs with beet pulp shreads. Make have some density issues even comparing those 2 feed ingredients.

Just reach out to all SP members, and I'm sure you will get a qualified answer. I have visited via telephone with well over 100 members about modifications to our ration. I know for a fact there are several on SP who have successfully substituted both shredded & pelleted Beet Pulp.  Good Luck!
