On most of the feedlot close out sheets...........is there still cattle that need more gainability? Are 50% of the pens way better than the other 50%.........has the industry kinda closed the gap on say average daily gains? I think that health may play more of a part on bad doing cattle than wda but I don't know. I assume cattle out of Mexico or West Virginia are most likely poor on their quality and adg.....any one see these sheets or studies? I hear that the feedlot boys are loosing 100 bucks a head.......it won't be long before they will be breaking even.

Heard a audio clip from the BIF meeting last week. The guy claimed that industry weaning weights have not improved in 24 years because there is essentially no room there to improve unless it is creep feed and milk.......all of these have trade offs. He stated that gain has really improved and carcass weights have doubled. He said that marbling has really improved in the industry. He said that the lowest fruits on the trees to pick........for improvement is reproduction and mortality rate.
