We won Supreme Female over all breeds last week at Harding Fair and qualified for the RBC Supreme show at Canadian Western Agribition.  If you're unfamiliar with it, champions from shows across North America (from Fort Worth, to Edmonton, to Toronto) come and compete for ~$15,000 cash and prizes.

We're super excited to qualify again this year!  Our 7 year old Angus cow N7's Blackwood Lady 2T (pictured) was supreme female over all breeds with her Connealy Imprint heifer calf at side.  Apologize about the crappy pics.  I haven't got the show ones back yet.  Comments/opinions on her appreciated.  Thanks!

A little better pic below.  Calf is only a late Feb.  She sure is changing by the day now. The old cow still looks pretty youthful!

The calf (Connealy Imprint) on this cow was Reserve Heifer Calf at our jackpot show a couple weeks ago.  She's coming along nicely.  I just hope I can keep the old girl milking hard for another 6 weeks.

Well I am very proud to say that N7's BLK Woodlady 2T's streak of wins has continued.  She was named Grand Champion Black Angus Female at Manitoba Livestock Expo.  She then went on to win Supreme Female over all breeds!!!

So excited and proud of my big ol girl.  She has now double qualified for the RBC Supreme at Agribition, a feat not many ever are able to accomplish let alone at 7 yrs of age!

Thanks guys.  Look forward to seeing you Sean.  Stop by the stall for an adult beverage.

Aussie, I didn't go to Farmfair this year.  It was the same time as MLE.  Maybe I should have and taken a run at winning the new truck!

My thought is a lot of good cows produce excellent calves until they are 10/12+ years.Probably the equivilant of a 40+ year old lady and being around 70 they still look real good. Congratulations you do have a very nice excellent producing cow.Alot of younger cows don't last long as you really cant tell until their 2nd calf as some are not in balance for productivity they can milk too much and not breed back or too little to raise a above herd average calf. The best way to buy cows is when calves are sucking and close to weaning.I have seen several  sale topping cows that look better as they aren't good mothers.Fat and hair sell best in a sale ring as their value in the real world isn't the best.

Thank you guys for the kinds words.  What a run!  I couldn't be more proud of these girls.  N7's BLK Woodlady 2T was named Senior Champion Female and National Champion Black Angus Female at Canadian Western Agribition.  It's gonna take a long time to come down after this.  We are not a major show outfit so this kind of win was not expected at all.  I believe we are the first outfit form Manitoba to win this honor ever!
