Anybody know anything about this bull? He is listed on the ASA web site as CM39022 but without a pedigree and as 0% Shorthorn. I don't find him by either name, prefix, or number on either the AMAA or ACA web site....thanks

How you folks ever figure out whats what with information as sketchy as this is beyond me. I looked him up. Whats the purpose of even registering him? His number is commercial right? He could be anything lol. I have a hard time forgetting a bull I registered and used.

OK, I know this is going to sound stupid... but I have a friend that used a stud ram one year that they did not know his parentage- even though he was pure.

They were going through and sorting ewes and lambs one day while weaning-- sorted off a group of ewes to ship-- then came back home to find a lamb that had no momma, and no eartags.  By process of elimination- they were still unable to find out who he was- as all the other lambs they had on record were accounted for.  By the way he was built- they had a really good idea who he was sired by- but could only guess that his mother was one of the ewes that they had shipped- thinking perhaps they had shipped the wrong ewe.  That little motherless, daddyless lamb grew and grew and grew.. and ended up being named Champion ram @ Iowa State fair as a lamb, and I think Reserve at Louisville as a yearling.  To this day, they still don't know his momma- and can only guess on his daddy.

This was a flock of about 80 ewes at the time, and so that would have put them choosing and sorting through over 120 lambs.

I know this is five months later but might be related to Kodiak used by Ohlde which I mention in the other post about potential DS.

AHL = DO NOT WANT  <cowboy>//// Hes produced alot of good cattle-including one of the most influential bulls of the 20th Century-After all the hoopla-there are three bulls that CHANGED THE GAME-from the 90s till now:Double Stuff, Heatseeker, and Who Made Who. the first is a Shorthorn other than Stinger, and he literally brought the Shorthorn breed back to life-and YOU DONT HAVE TO LIKE IT. The Second is half Shorthorn:arguably one of the most preponent black clubby deals ever, and Who is Who: arguably one of the greatest bulls of any breed:ever. They are to show cattle what the 60s and early seventies were to music:never to be seen again with that amazing shake up and cool calves from some incredible beyond.-and SAVE the diatribes about defects-all of these bulls have produced MANY-usefull clean progeny. Y'all go to the Texas Shorthorn sale if you want some AHL genetics. I just can't remember one being competitive in Texas. Now I have seen some complete train wrecks out of AHL bulls over the years.
