Mo magic and milk man look great. Like JPJ too.

How old are Chopper and Copper Penny? They look pretty young. Wasn't Chopper the one who sold for 65000 for half interest?

thank you for pictures.

Well I'm not trying to sound like I know everything but my dad works at REI and I have pretty much seen these bulls on a daily basis since they have been there.  First off, Paddy O'Malley is not a cripple, he gets along just fine!  Second, there are a lot of bulls out there that come in from pasture and they do not look their best.  After they stay a week or so and are back on feed they start looking better.  Yes, Copper Penny and Chopper are short but they are also young, they have some more growing to do.  As for I Am Legend, he did not look his best when he first got there but he looks like a totally different bull now.

I only want to say that you need to make sure you have the facts straight when you are talking about other people's bulls, especially when you go and see them in their "off time" and in their working clothes.  I have no affiliation with any of the owners of any of the bulls you were talking about, other than my dad working at REI.  I just don't want people to get the wrong ideas about a bull because someone couldn't get the names right.

I was there the other day. I thought all the bulls looked good.  Heatwave 6 was very impressive. Glad I flushed cows to him.  Got to see HW 11, HW13 and like HW 9 all looked ok but still young.  Also, I saw chopper, steel smokin, bailout, ali 2, and ree heights. Saw some more cant remember there names. Monopoly is there but would not come out from the fans.  Oklahoma Heat!! 106 yesterday

Milkman looks awesome. Copper Penny didnt look bad either, but I'd say Sunseeker(other thread) beats them all. These bulls kinda look like they're in he**, but then again they aren't constantly being rinsed, in a cool room, and on a bunch of feed. But then again these are some of the highest dollar bulls in the industry, you'd think they'd look a little better than this. All I can say is Sunseeker is probaly going to be on the semen order next year.

I was up there about a month agoand then just the other day and was most impressed with Monopoly. He was the most complete bull that was still SOUND. I was EXTREMELY unimpressed with I Am Legend, he was tall, no depth of rib , straight off both ends and had NO Muscle. He looked exactly the same both times.  Another bull that impressed me was Ivy League, the stoutest shorthorn bull i have seen (which isnt very many) but he looked like he could fix many of todays shortys. Im not a shorthorn fan but he made me want to go out and buy some shortys. :)  These are the bulls that stood out the most to me. Wish i took my camera

We had an Angus bull collected at REI last fall and couldn't have been more impressed with how our bull was cared for and how they sent him home to us.  It was our first time getting a bull collected and they took their time to explain the whole process to us and how things would go.  Our bull was a little young, had never been with cows yet,  and took a couple of weeks to start producing high quality semen.  I thought REI was first class.

I've got a Golden Child steer in the pasture that has almost a carbon copy body shape to what he looks like in that photo.  My steer is headed to the feedlot........  Have had some good heifers out of him though.

I can  now understand why some people don't like their bulls pictured while at the stud.  When I saw that this was pictures of bulls at REI, I cringed. It's always scary because you can always take a picture of any animal, and make them look bad.   I will admit that at times I saw Ivy League and thought he didn't look his best.  They had a lot of rain and they kept him plenty green, but they will produce more semen when they are not overly fat and we were just thankful to produce as much semen as he did this spring so for that we are thankful.  They do an awesome job and will take care of all our bulls for the forseeable future, but will still cringe when pictures of bulls at REI pop up!  If anyone want's to see Ivy League in his working clothes running with cows, just let me know.  We slicked him when we picked him up so people can see him without all the hair.

Its been a few years ago, but when I have been to Elgin Breeding Service to pick up semen and look around, the bulls where in excellent shape.  EBS puts up some of if not the highest quality semen in the business.  Their thaw count is higher than many other companies freeze count.  The facilty is awesome.  They don't normally have many club calf bulls there.
