I haven't been on in a while, and I am sorry to see anyone banned, but aj has pushed that line many many times and it appears he just went too far this time.  Jason has done a fabulous job with a totally diverse group and if he felt it was needed I would never question that judgement, he has been very lineant with many of us on one occasion or another.

Since Jason basically pays for this site out of his own pocket when he started it and maintains it I think he has done an AMAZING job! Jason you put up with ALOT and I personally thank you for tolerating all that you do. I also thank you for GIVING us this free forum to learn from. Keep up the good work!

I didn't see the offending post, so can not comment on aj being banned, but have to chuckle about how this is a "nice, kid, family" type of board.  Not quite as bad as SS used to be, but getting there. no it isn't.  not even close.
All is well if your in the "in crowd" and agree with the "popular group". Just don't stray or they will turn on ya. And for heaven's sake, sugar coat EVERYTHING. (Don't tell it like it is - I do that and get physical threatening PM's forward the PM to jason and he can track the actual post to make sure they aren't messed with. ) that's not why he was banned.

Jason, for the most part, does a great job. But IMO, sometimes lets the bullying and cussing go a bit too far.   and who led the pack on bullying? it appears most of bullying's complaints fell flat when presented with facts or hypocrisy, like number of registered calves and countless other examples.

Can we add a "jail bird" smiley?   That would go nice with the "beating the dead horse" smiley. standing up for bullying disguised as being proud of not being the in crowd... <deadhorse>

if sp is so much like ss, then more people could give out positive karma or respond to actual post in addition to hijacking, lots of other things to ADD to a website in a positive manner.

ive had two posts edited for content and won't make links with swearing in the comments section as i would like to make more links, but don't.

got a good book for christmas....  primal cuts,  cooking with america's best butchers   marissa guggiana

http://www.amazon.com/Primal-Cuts-Cooking-Americas-Butchers/dp/159962088X

all steaks are cut by thickness, not weight.

i am also a lurker. and aj was rude, but he was a independent thinker. Didnt follow the crowd and i liked that. but being rude is mean and many cant and shouldnt  get away with it.
kinda like middle school. if your going to be independent you better be part of the group.
whoever is the boss of this site does a good job of keeping things under control. it would be a large job for just one person so maybe they need help?

well, back to my hole.  <band>

There’s an awful lot of room between sugar coating and plain old tact.  I'm guilty of going too far myself in being what I believe to be straight with people.  However, I’m not going to pretend I’m just some poor innocent victim who spoke their mind when that comes back to bite me.

Somebody who tells new users asking for information on TH/PHA testing to go look something up themselves because “He could have done a little bit of work and not wasted my time” has no room to complain about bullying or not being in the in crowd.

People are going to disagree, that is life.  This cloak that we have on the internet allows us to be a little more forward than if we sitting across the table at the coffee shop.  You have to be able to understand this and take some individuals with a grain of salt.

The best tool that helps moderators is clicking the "report to moderator" button.  All the moderators instantly get an email and it allows us to take a look at the exact post.

I have been cussed up and down on the phone quite a few times over what other people have posted on here.  It doesn't ruffle my feathers, people are entitled to their opinions, right or wrong.

There was a recent precedence that indemnifies forum owners for the information posted on their site as long as they make a reasonable attempt to remove the info in a timely manner.  In other words, you are solely responsible for what you post.

Realize their is a different approach to moderating; I can lock every thread with even a semblance of an argument,  ban all controversial topics, and provide a virtual prozac pill on login.

But, who in the heck would want that.  I will present SP as a kid family site in that there will be less drama than you will see on a week night of prime time tv.  Arguments do not make the site any less kid friendly, it is part of life.

Perhaps Jason if members don't wish to play and post by the rules you would be willing to refund the price of membership to Steer Planet?  ;)

Thanks for doing a great job and providing a great site for us all.

Thanks for making me laugh.....  humore helps handle tough situations.

Opinions are just that opinions.  Yours is as good as mine, and every one has the right to be wrong if they choose to have an opinion that does not agree with mine.  ha  (argue) <cowboy>ha!

I won't comment on AJ because I don't know what he said.  However I will say I don't post or reply as much as I used to because of all the mental pistol whipping I took.  If you don't agree or say something nice, most people on here are not real happy with you.  Honests opinions I had on bulls in Denver and bulls in general were not well recieved by the admin at the time.  These opinions where on the money and not rude or mean.  So instead I primarily hold my opninions to myself and enjoy the benign postings from time to time.

Can you reference the problem that you had.  I have been the admin the entire time and I don't play any favorites based on your opinion of a bull.

I just went through the entire moderation log and there has never been a post pulled or any action against your account whatsoever.  Now, if people were railing on you for your comments, I can't take credit for that.  But, I do know, that admin or moderators haven't inputted.

There is a big difference from "Sugar coating" everything and being obnoxiously rude and disrespectful. That is a line you enjoy walking. I highly doubt anyone has physically threatened you, you seem to be a bit dramatic, but by all means, post it if you aren't lying. Jason you have done a wonderful job and I recommend your site to all of the youths in my 4h group. They have all benefited from your site and I just wanted you to know that you and your efforts are appreciated.

As far as the bullying thing goes, SH you log on and knock down karmas all of the time. You waited until two weeks after you and I had a nice little "discussion" and then you knocked mine down with the lovely little note "you were in the wrong let it go." Apparently you didn't think I would check it and you zipped it up when I posted it to the thread. You even tell people you are doing it............what does that make you?
