Has anyone heard or experienced any structural problems with Alias (club calf bull) calves? If so, what?

he's notorious for siring straight cattle off both ends, but he will add some power and moderate frame normally. if the cows are more maternally bred then you are probably less likely to have real issues with cripples. when he is bred to steery cows is when he really tends to throw absolute train wrecks.

i would argue that he breeds very similar to his dam's sire (WMW).  I have had luck with him on pb angus or sim/angus cows that are a little flat made and very flexible.  Touch him on some maine influence and you probably wish you hadn't.  He can change em, not always for the better.  I think exact same can be said for WMW

I would have to agree one the post that he sires alot like WMW.  When Alias works he works good, but you do have to breed him to sound cows and even then you'll get one thats too straight.  Our best calves the last 3 years have been by Alias, including a $5000 dollar steer out of a plain jane angus cow that you wouldn't look twice at.  We have had 1 heifer that I was planning on keeping as a replacement that just keeps getting straighter and straighter.  She will get fed out and butchered because she won't bring anything at the sale barn.  I really hope she can still walk when we get her finished.  On the other hand I"ve got a great smokey heifer out of a Heatwave x 6807 cow that is the best calf to ever walk on our place.  She will be my 9 year old daughters first show heifer.  The disposistion on all our Alias calves has been great, all quiet and really gentle.
