When breeding to SunSeeker, use moderate framed cows that are clean fronted and smooth shouldered. Will add bone, muscle, and HAIR. I like him also for the performance in his calves. Will work on plainer cows as well as your front pasture type cows. Hope this helps.

Make sure that the cows for both of these bulls are very sound on both ends.
I have never used Alias, so I can't comment there, but if you are going to use Sun Seeker, I would say you had better put him on something super soggy and stout. My experience has been that he will pretty them up and add hair.

Not sure about Alias, but have used some Sunseeker. I would use him on a really soggy, stout cow with a neat neck. My experience is these calves will get a little plainer fronted as they get older. I would also make sure that the cow I breed to him is not too straight. The previous posts are right about him adding hair and bone. As a whole I would say he is one of the more consistent hair throwing bulls in the last few years

You need to use Alias on a sound cow. Not one with a lot of clubby genetics.

We have a red Heatseeker cow and I have considered Alias, however structure scares me. We have an Alias heifer out of a Black Impact/Foreplay cow and she is plenty straight, but shes nice. I guess I won't know if I don't try but I'm thinking Dr. Who or Hannibal would be a better option. She is the cow in my avatar pic.

One was large framed, loose fronted, and just did not have enough muscle to compete. He almost had too much set to his hock. The other was really small framed, straight legged and never really amounted to much. Both of them had excellent dispositions though.

The Sun Seeker daughters, in my experience, make excellent cows. We have 6 Sun Seeker daughters and all of them have an excellent disposition, milk extremely well, and are excellent mothers. We raised Sun Seeker's dam and sold her shortly after weaning to Bob Sunquist. I viewed Sun Seeker when he was born and several times throughout that summer and his mother milked very well also for a first calf heifer. His grandmother was an excellent mother and milked extremely well. We have some half sibs to Sun Seeker's dam currently and all of them milk extremely well and raise good calves consistently every year. Thus I have a great deal of confidence in the Sun Seekers ability to make cows. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I would be more than glad to help!

With your sunseeker cows, what did you breed them with? I have a nice small sunseeker heifer that I am unsure about breeding to. I was thinking about a nice low birth weight maine influenced bull such as shiver or tyson. Any ideas?
Last year we allowed our new clean up bull GTWY Milestone, which is an Ali x Harrietta and a flushmate to Breathe Easy, Discovery, and Pride and Glory, breed several of our older Sun Seeker daughters. They should calf at the end of this month and early next month. Last year we bred our yearling Sun Seeker heifers to Grizz and SS Goldmine L142. We were pleased with the Grizz calves we had out of heifers in 2009, so we elected to use him again. Our hope was to obtain calving ease, while maintaining some growth and consistency. I do not have any experience with Tyson or Shiver, so I cannot guide you one direction or another on those two bulls. I know many people have been pleased with the Ali calves, if you have the semen, and Northern Improvement seems like he works well phenotypically but maybe doesn't add the growth when compared to other bulls. Another bull to watch is Grizzly. I have heard many good reports on him. Hope this helps!

USE ALISA ON SOUND SOUND SOUND COWS. 2 out of five of my alias calves have been cripled at about 750 lbs. They have all been out of angus cows so I no longer use him but i am sure that there are some cows that he will work great on. Just not mine (lol)

My show heifer from last year was a sunseeker and she just calved we just bred her to our heifer bull an Emblazon son to get the first calf just out and alive shes doing a great job milks really good and the calf ain't to bad either so i'm really excited about her future.

I have not bred any alias calves but the sunseekers are usaully the most consistantly good calves I raise. I have had good ones out of char/simm, angus, angus/simm, and sim/maine cows. Have never had one with a bad disposition they are always the first ones broke and quite. All of them have great hair on any of the cows. I have found the cleanest fronts come out of my angus based cows, but the thickest come out of my simm based cows but some do get coarse up front. Have Sunseeker bred heifers due anytime to Hooks Shear Force 38K, both are making good bags and should milk just fine. I have not raised any alias calves but have worked with a few and they did not have the greatest dispositions. Not saying it is alias though could be on the dam side.
