all time favorite shorthorn bull

My pick as a Shorthorn would have to be Sonny.  My pick of a Shorthorn bull from a non Shorthorn breeder would have to be Double Stuff-we used him more for Maine and clubby genetics and for showring potential he could not be beat, his down side was his genetic defects, and that was a huge black mark against him, but I sure think he brought enough good to still be one of my favorites.  For an all around balanced Shorthorn bull I sure do like the looks of Pioneer, I sure don't think you could go wrong in that direction.

I relly like this guy, I think he could have a chance to do something in my neck of the woods. I will be interested to see how his calves turn out.

I will be going to the farm next week and I will try to get pics of the 3 spring calves I have from him.
2 heifers and 1 bull calf
If my limited photography skills work out OK I will post the pics.
I will also try to get a pic of 85W in his working clothes after being with 20 cows for the past few weeks.

MB Steer Maker 816

ML 0429, CO, GFS Red Cloud 7026, KL Double Duty 52, that type of thing... you know REAL beef type shorthorns.  But I also like Sonny.  His dam is AWSOME!!!!!!  I just wish they would breed her a little different.

We used Ace of Diamonds for the steer I have now. He is pretty decent looking. Nice weight and super easy to work with. Idk much bout genetics so sorry lol.

Muridale Bonanza 85W after working all summer

Bonanza looks real good-bred him to any Buster females-wuts his pedigree? O0

His sire is Saskvalley Bonanza 219M
He is out of Muridale Magdalene 67S who is sired by Muridale Jumbo 70P who is an Alta Cedar Ultimate 130 K son

85W bred two Buster14K daughters this year

The one on the left is out of a Ruffian daughter from the Raggedy Anne cow family
The front calf, 229Y is out of a heifer I bought from Dale Studer, a Studer's Prince Randy 84S daughter, DSF Isle 49W

Appreciate the calf pictures Uluru-I admire how you guys up north document and picture everything-When I had my cattle-and later when they were else where-I took tons of pictures-didnt mean much at the time-but 15 or 30 years later they are invaluable in alot of ways O0

ditto this...  I have thousands of pictures of our sheep and cows.  At the time you don't think they mean much, not 10 shots of each animal... but 10 years later you sure wished you had more pictures..

This really comes into play when you are working on a website, and you want to have an accurate listing of reference sires, from what I have found. Nothing is more disapointing than seeing a reference sired page, with pictures absent.. Of course, that cannot be helped, as back then taking pictures wasn't the norm, and who would have ever thought we'd ever use those pictures again.

The thing that drives me the craziest.. is knowing I HAD pictures of that certain animal, but due to something else CANNOT FIND THEM FOR ANYTHING>>>
