In the market for a new Aluminum trailer.

Would like to hear opinions...what you like and dislike on any trailers that you have experience with.

Talked to a Wilson salesman over the weekend, and got his salestalk.  Sounded good...sounds like this is mainly riveted construction, minimal aluminum welds to break.

Thank you for any opinions.  This trailer will see plenty of ranch-type use...in addition to rolling down the highway, it will see plenty of time on gravel roads and time rolling over hills down pasture lanes and trails.  Need something that will take a little stress and hold up well.

I bought a Wilson in 2002. The only thing I have ever done to it is put tires and breaks on it. With somewhere near 100,000 road miles and who knows how many ranch miles on it, I don't think that is too bad. RCR

After putting on thousands of miles on an older pumper pull that pretty much help build the herd and take the cattle to shows. My family ordered our new Platinum 24 footer with AC in the Living quarter, plus 4 foot tack room. Side ramp on passenger side and escape door on driver side. Its about as tall and wide as you can get it with beam lights all over this thing. After 10 years of clanking around in our older trailer its gonna be nice getting around with one these puppies.

Have a 24ft Eby Wrangler  love it
Wilson would have been our top choice, but found a good used Eby
It's been said here before - Look to a company that builds Semi Pots - they have the experience to build trailer for a long life of hard use.

I have a 24 ft. Wilson and love it. They are probably not the cheapest trailer you can find. I have friends that have been in the livestock hauling business since before WW 2 . They will not buy anything but a Wilson. When they put 100,000 miles a year on them and they last for years and years that's impressive to me. Like a friend who has one told me, you'll only need to buy one Wilson trailer.

I really like my EBY Wrangler, its pretty basic but it is a heck of a lot better than the old steel trailer that I had before.

We just picked up our new 8 x 24 4-Star trailer Friday!  I think Wilson makes a great trailer also.  If we were doing more ranch work with it thats what we would have got.  It came down to preference in dealers for us.

I know a lot of full time cattle haulers pulling both Wilson and 4-Star and both have stood the test of time.

I'll know more in 20 years when this one has been through three kids and is finally off the depreciation schedule!

Since my family has a livestock trucking business, we have a few trailers. We love our 8 x 24" 4 Star for showing. It tracks great, is quiet riding, and has held up really well. If I could change one thing, it would of course be longer!!! For more heavy use and ranch work, I would recommend Wilson. The trailers and pots they build really stand up to the test of time. The only draw back is some people would prefer to not pull something that looks like a little semi pot to shows and for winter shows in our area, you have to put in all those darn plugs!
