Has anyone seen Amen, seen any calves out of Amen, have any information about Amen that they would like to share?  I saw some pictures of calves on a blog or something a couple months ago and now cannot find anything and no one seems to be talking about him either.  I was thinking about using him on some cows, but I am leery because it is almost like he fell off the grid.

Thanks for the info Mark.  Yeah he has a pretty big BW, but I figured they were just being honest.  92 lbs square compared to 92 lbs elongated makes a huge difference though.  I would definitely use him on a mature cow, still makes me a bit nervous.  I just cannot convince myself to use him and by the looks of things not many others can either.  I need that kind of shape in my cattle, but at what cost.  Well if anyone out there has more info keep it coming I am listening.

Amen information has always been tough to find for some reason.  We had our first one last night out of a Golden Child cow...it was her third calf.  She had it with no problems and it probably weighs around 80 lbs (heifer).  She was up nursing and jumping around in no time.  Very pleased with the calf.  Will get a picture to post sometime very soon.  We have another Amen that is overdue 3 or 4 days right now.  Hoping it comes small also!

As posted on another thread, Amen got us set of premature twins 95 & 65 pounds.  Lungs were not developed.  Mamma died a few hrs after her C section.

We have had 4 Amen calves this year... #1 weighed 45 lbs. #2 weighed 124 lbs. #3 weighed 100 lbs. #4 weighed 12 lbs. and yes that is suppose to be a 12!!! Needless to say the calf died but the cow did carry full term and calve on her due date. All other 3 calves are alive and do look good tho. Has anyone else had prematures out of Amen??

J, I saw your calf on another thread and he is nice.  I am anxious to see what kind of a cow he is out of.  What size babies does this cow typically have?  Is she a carrier?  We have a bunch of clean cows and I am wondering if it would click.  Guess all we can do is try.  Nice calf!
