Is there a way to see how many progeny a Angus bull has sired and such? I found his pedigree and EPDs but would like to know how many calves he has had. Thanks.( Hope my spelling was acceptable.)

I don't think there is a way to do that...closest you might be able to come is to "buy" a performance pedigree on a certain bull, and it wil show you how many offspring have been submitted for birth, weaning and yearling weights and in how many herds.  Doesn't mean all those calves were registered, and also doesn't account for registered calves out of the bull that AHIR data was not submitted on.  Do you own the bull?

No I do not own the bull. I am trying to do some research on two bulls. I am trying to decide if I want to try flushing to one or the other or neither. I know I have researched progeny on other breeds but could not find that feature on the Angus and was hoping I just could not find it. Thanks.

On the Australian database, you can bring up a sires pedigree and performance, and where it's details are lited, there is a "Progeny" tab.

For example, go to http://abri.une.edu.au/online/cgi-bin/i4.dll?1=22342A3D&2=2420&3=56&5=2B3C2B3C3A&6=5D5A5B592259232726&9=50505D5E

Where it says Progeny, click "View All". This should bring up the first few hundred, in alphabetical order (there is a limit as to how many calves the system will bring up).
Alternately, you can "View by Herd" which requires you to enter which herd you want to see.

I think the performance pedigree is $2, so not a huge investment to see a history of ratios and carcass data on each bull and number offspring.  If you are considering doing a flush, could be money well spent.  How is the cow bred, and who are your 2 potential AI sires??
