I'm looking for an easy calving angus bull that will still throw showable calves.  The heifer is pretty extreme in her muscling so i'm a little more concerned than normal.  I'm thinking about either bismarck or conneally thunder.  What are your thoughts?  Also, on a side note, I'm looking for a clubby bull to add bone, neck extension, and maybe a little depth.  The cow is THF but might be a PHAC.  any ideas on that would be appreciated.

Here is a heifer calf out of Copyright a calving ease bull from Apex cattle.  She has good bone and a good wide top. This picture is at about 8 hours.  He is not a purebred angus as he has 1/68 american in him (don't quote me on that exact number but it is in that area) but I believe his calves are purebred as that american won't pass down.

Copyright has Amerifax in him and the calves can never qualify as PB Angus. He is what " they" call an A+ bull.

I like Yon Future Focus, ABS carries him and his picture is horrible but he's a truly awesome bull.  His heifers are the only ones that consistently beat Net Worths in the angus rings around here and out of Maine heifers the calves are stout and correct and grow like weeds.  I believe his bw epd is below 1 but don't hold me to it.  I can tell you that out of heifers my calves have averaged around 70 lbs from him.

Amerifax is what I was meaning, thanks for clearing that up. I guess I was wrong.

Without knowing more about the heifer, I would suggest Northern Improvement. Calving ease direct, low birth weight, smooth shoulder and throws a ton of style.  I would not be as concerned with a heavily muscled heifer calving as I would an overly fat heifer.  Muscle stretches, fat does not.  You should be fine with NI or Bismark.  Personally, I think you would be disappointed with the Thunder calf.

I am looking for an Angus bulll to replace Northern Improvement and some of the others that have been main stays. What about Limestone Jupiter in the ABS line up. I wonder how he would work on heifers like the one above etc. I thought about trying him this year.

Jupiter is not a heifer bull. EPD wise anyway. And ABS doesn't even advertise him as calving ease.  He is only breed average. And his accuracy is only .39  So back to Bismark .88 accuracy at a 12 CED. On my heifers and customer heifers. I need a highly proven bet the ranch calving ease bull. But that's just my 2 cents.

Till-Hill...I dont know where you go your info from. I bred 25 heifers to Limestone Jupiter and didn't pull a single one. He has enough style, that he should be alright in the ring. Go ahead OH Breeder, if your ABS rep says something, he probably isn't lying.

Bismarck  for sure I work on the Mill Brae Ranch in Kansas we had about 50 Bismarcks and about 30 CT this spring.  Both are definatly calving ease but the Bismarcks have more show appeal.  On the clubby bull I would use either Boardwalk or Monopoly Money.

Thanks for all the responses.  So it looks like a lot of people like either Bismarck or Jupiter.  Another bull I like is Frontman, I saw a lot of nice sons at one of the owners places a year or two ago.  His calving ease and bw #s are good but his accuracy numbers aren't very high, has anyone used him and how did the calves turn out if you did?

You were looking at 2010. I got 2011 in front of me. His CED is 6 with BW 1.3 He is below breed average for BW but now they label his as UNIQUE PEDIGREE AND A KILLER LOOK. So he dropped from last year.

As of 4.13.2011 the most current EPD's according to AAA is

BW  .9
Acc .73

From what I could get their haven't been any issues. I have some larger made females to try him on. His father is OCC Jupiter who is calving ease. I know his mother has some bw in her background. I haven't heard what you did mr hill.

Here are some pretty old pics of the heifer, I haven't been able to get any recent ones.  She is a tycoon out of a cow sired by hairy.
