Angus Herd Sire Progression

Here's a pic of the big guy, Elvis, at 7 years of age.  He wintered out in the bush with the cows so no special treatment (mostly because he won't stay with the bulls anymore).  I think he's only gotten better with age and his sons and daughters keep proving that theory year in and year out.  Elvis will get a heavy workload again this year.

Now there’s a good looking bull! I liked the pictures from a few years back but he keeps getting better with age.

Thanks Mark and Larissa.  My only regret with this bull will be not using him more probably. 

Attached a pic of one of an udder on one of his daughters that I snapped checking cows last night.  Most look the same. Some maybe have a little longer teats but the udders are all high and tight and produce more than enough milk. 

Your bull looks really good at 7 years.  I think this pretty well proves his soundness and disposition to stay around this long.  There are not many bulls that have this kind of longevity.

I will reiterate Cowboy-you need to show up at Denver with a pen of 3 like that Graceland bull-he blows away most anything Ive seen here-and Virginia is a BIG TIME Purebred Angus hotbed-the commercial boys would eat them up at Denver-they are way different than the political stuff I see here and on the web-in the pictures etc.In phenotype alone I think you are talking to the wrong-box of rocks no brains follow the bs statistics semen outfits who are incapable of doing two things at once much less being able to do any kind of analysis on any kind of bull IN OTHER WORDS JUST PLAIN STUPID or lemmings dancing to the politically correct tunes. --A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW BETTER-like the commercial guys that actually use bulls. And your tailheads ARE NOTHING compared to the pyramid tailheads i see on the name brand Angus today- O0

I think I know where Elvis gets his longevity from.  Here's a pic I snapped on the weekend of his mother, at 10 years of age on pasture raising a big January calf...not bad.
