Milk will give them extra protien and fat.  Their hair & skin also look  a little better when they have milk in their diet.  The fact that it is liquid seems to help get a little more belly in them - which is good.    I'd say to go for it!    Be careful though that you don't give them so much that they dont eat enough of their ration.  Also, you can spoil them to where they won't eat without their milk.. that would be bad.

They may be referring to Manna Pro Calf Manna, a type of milk replacement.  It smells really sweet to help their appetite and has added fat and protein.  My son showed hogs for several years and this was suggested to us to use.  Go to the Manna Pro website for more info..  We bought ours at Tractor supply.  You don't use very much per feeding if I remember correctly.

Soak their regular diet feed with the goats milk. They'll perform great on it. It's not been that long ago that PPL only sold the cream to the creameries and all of the butter fat went to PPL hogs. Watch out they'll run you over to get to it. PPL also add dry whey to diets to get their pigs to eat more. Slop those hogs!!!

Thanks for the info, and its actual milk from their goats and extra milk I have left from work feeding dairy calves I feed to them also. With them being on milk for a week I can really see the differance.
For the viewing pleasure, here some pics of them...if yall wanna comment on them go ahead, like I said Im new at this pig raising thing

We have never added milk but know of others who have and this helps to add weight in a short period of time.  Our fair is a week prior to yours and at this time we would want our pigs in the 60-70lbs area.

The heaviest was 35lbs last tuesday their around 12 weeks now and my fair is in August 1-7th

They really should be weighing in the 80lb range for their age. What are you feeding them besides the goats milk/left over dairy milk?

I know they should be heavier :-\ but you take what you get. I am feeding them Honor Show Chow Pig Grower along with Power Fuel, so Im feeding them as much fat as I can possibly get in them without making them sick.

You don't want to get them too fat this early, but your gonna really need to pour the feed to them to get them up to weight. How much are you feeding them right now? From looking at the pictures I'd guess they all eat together?

Do you hand feed or use a self feeder?  We have used a self feeder and have had a lot of success.  We hand feed until the initial weigh in then use the self feeder until they reach 125 -150 lbs (well depending on the date) then return to hand feeding.

Make sure you have them on a good worming regiment as well, we wormed every 30 days. Can really make a difference.

Iowabeef, as she stated in her first thread, there is not allot of activity on pig forum, she came to this forum and is getting her questions answered.

We would use the Safeguard apple flavor, double for hogs, so if your pig weighs 35 pounds I would worm with a 70 pound dose.
