judging from pedigree, performance, or lack of it, I seriously doubt cates is even remotely worried.

His sire and dam have one calf, quiet man. rest of recent pedigree is rather thin on # of calves.

I didn't look too hard, but hard to find cates on the pedigree except for trump.

Oh really-why dont you tell me about EVERY COW IN THAT PEDIGREE Ive seen quite a few of them or daughters in person over the last 24 years and know enough about the people who produced them. After that Im going to post a 0 BW pedigree of a 50000 plus heifer that just won Louisville then you can justify the performance BY NUMBERS ON PAPER ONLY and believe every word of it O0

hey, I said I did a quick look.  no cates recent in pedigree. for some reason you seem to be dissing them.  not sure why.

a quick peek in his pedigree shows a few animals with 1-3 offspring.  nothing really heavy duty.

perhaps list the animals you think are important and how close they are to him.

you said everything is useful.  well, I guess if animals with 1-3 offspring are useful, then I'm sorry for my definition of useful is way off base.

typically, I like a few more offspring than that, particularly when they are stacked.

perhaps he will prove himself.

no worries.  I just don't see him the way you do.

That bull is frankly nothing special in my brutal opinion. Too small and ugly footed for me.

Best bull in the barn for me is the Bloodstone x Ash Valley Kendra of Brouwers.

Also, are you implying that we beat this bull based on politics at WBE, Mark? I'd take offense to that to be honest.

Isnt he an  Aviator out of a Solution? -Im going by what my friend Ryan Wernicke implied I wasnt there-and from a few e-mails I recieved, the white bull may not be megabucks and on a self feeder the rest of his life (in a manner of speaking) hes different and has alot of good cattle behind him I just want to see him-same thing-HERESAY-If hes that bad-send me a cell picture to prove it-I for one-dont think this bull I pictured is anything to write home about either O0

Neither I nor Weikerts have ever bought anything from Cates and we raised this bull. We know He's not the greatest thing to ever live but I'm not sure where you get off talking a lot of crap about something you know nothing about.

Oh really-CF Focus isnt a Cates Bull? Hes a good one JMO-I dont know what you have to do with Wiechert but theyve owned him for quite a while. You have made statements about the white bull that are pretty disparaging with no viable basis to back them up. I think people like Ryan and others know a little about the cattle and they all thought the same thing RE vhe isnt Gods Gift but could be a step in the right direction.I see pictures of 2 bulls here.-My direction is different and I look at anything that may have practical function.-Im not on board with hard doing harder calving cattle and the bogus falsehoods connected with them LIKE 0 BW linebred Solutions-DIMINISHING CLUB as far as I"m concerned South East Iowa got hit hard-burnt up-heres a long yearling on cows sired by a son of WHR Code Red-and out of a daughter of a bull I bred called Top Fuel-basically almost a complete outcross-,and if he grew up in a show barn instead of being out on cows at a young age-With his pedigree and phenotype I think for a variety of reasons-he would dispell any inklings that I or my friends dont know anything Especially  If he had been in a barn all of his life and went to some shows.-I also know that his owner sells more Shorthorn bulls than any one other small breeder around the Midwest. Blow him up-then show me what you have in a long yearling with a non wound up solution et al pedigree that comes close.-O0 O0 O0

So what we've learned here today is it's okay to basically say somebody is a cheater because they own a CF bull when Cates is judging. Even if you've never owned a CF animal in your entire life. Got it. That's a really cool thing to say.

My opinion of that white bull is he is not very big and I did not like his foot. He would not work for me. The Aviator bull probably has more BW than I would prefer. We have moved largely away from those genetics in our ET program.

I am partners with the Weikert brothers and raise all of their cattle. I will not have somebody slandering us/them just because they didn't have their facts straight. This isn't even about the bulls at this point. I feel that many people would prefer the white bull and I wouldn't hold it against them. But I don't appreciate the claims of politics playing a significant part in a judge's decision when he had no reason to play us a favor.

It came from his facebook page-It really doesnt matter who owns them-it doesnt change the animal at all-I just want to see the bull you are running your mouth about-first the white one-then the "Wallace ?" calf-I havent seen anything yet

His name starts with a W too the bull is  on his facebook from a young age through Wisconsin-Kentucky etc I thought that was his bull-Alot of people thought that for whatever reason the White bull got the short end of the stick at the beef expo-he was supreme overall at South Dakota which is unheard of-So whatever happens next it probably  doesnt have a huge bearing upon peoples decision to try him. Actually-I had no idea you had anything to do with him-so "slandering us" is a bit of a stretch to say the least I didnt like the judging job-neither did alot of other people.  Do make sure to update us with pictures after hes been on cows for a few months O0.quote]
