I have a cow with an injured hip, 275 days along, hate for her to have to carry the calf much longer.  Her normal gestations (6 of them)  have been 275 to 289 days, she doesn't look ready to calve yet.  anyone have experience or recommendations on using dexamethazone and estrumate?

There are plenty of people on here that do, but it would be best to call your preferred vet honestly.

I am working with my vet on it, just wanted opinions from people who have experience with it.  He wants me to wait a few more days if I can, but I don't know if the cow can take it, and wanted to get an idea of what to expect.

How far along was the cow?

I've induced some over the years and have always gotten along well. I know of some friends that routinely induced their cows and heifers to try to calve over the weekends because they were not able to be around as much as they would like during the week days because of work. They loved it. The only thing that I noticed and people comment on is that you may have more cows that don't clean quite like they normally would.
The reason that I recommended that you call your vet is that if I or someone actually told you what dosages of what products that we used, we maybe reprimanded by someone.  ;)
